Let Justin7 do a BI/SBR video--you did this for the 46k theft of Cory1111. How about equal time for the 1.5 Million theft?

I hope that SBR will try their best to help us. I know that this money means a lot to a lot of people and their families. I'm sure that the SBR guys have families that they love and care about. I ask them to take the perspective of their customers who have lost so much money, and whose families are suffering right now because of this horrible theft.

Also from a purely pragmatic approach, if no bailout is reached, it will be difficult for SBR to continue as a business that claims to be a watchdog. If nothing is done to help players, I think SBR's rep may be damaged beyond recovery.

Love this idea. Hell, I'd donate all of my points as well if I knew I was going to get back the money that is owed to me.

Hell will freeze over before there is any report from SBR about what happened at betislands. They dont want to mention it and dont want to hear about it..but i am hoping they are still working to resolve it.

Let's be honest--if you had known that BI was a scam you would have sent your money elsewhere and lost. If you couldn't turn a profit at BI with a free 1/2 pt and 108 lines, you can't win anywhere. So what good would a bailout do you, seriously?

    Lets be fair here

If sbr thinks they should get a piece of the pie on a bailout then this guys line of thinking could also be considered rationale

If I were running a Book I'd certainly offer the OP a similar bailout. I want him as a life-long player.

It is unlikely that a bailout comes in the form of actual $. SBR will watch this site go down in flames before they will donate one cent of their own revenue to this cause. If anything, a bailout will be in the form of a deposit match with a large rollover, which can't be withdrawn for several months.

I feel sorry for the large balances but I don't think the fact that you can't make everyone happy should be an excuse to make nobody happy. If a book wants to do a bailout but limit its exposure, simply set limits on the amount of BI balance they will honor.

I would actually be willing to deposit half the amount of my BI balance, not withdraw for 3 months, do a 25X rollover on balance + deposit at a reputable book. I mean, sure, I wanna win, sometimes win, but I'm almost as happy when it takes me a long time to lose. So I'm not looking for a quick turnaround here, just let me play some and try so I don't feel like I got 3K stolen from me. LET ME LOSE MY DAMN MONEY LIKE I NORMALLY WOULD DAMMIT.

The first priority should be in repaying actual player money (the lesser amount of net deposits or balances). For example, a sharp player makes a total of $5000 in deposits, $0 in withdrawals, and runs up a $20,000 balance at the time of closure. On the other hand, a recreational player deposits a total of $1,000 and has a $600 balance remaining at closure. Priority would be given to repaying the $5,000 to the sharp and $600 to the recreational player before repaying the $15,000 in sharp winnings.

Maybe SBR can allocate a small percentage of their annual revenue (whatever they would feel comfortable with) towards a player recovery fund, or if members here would be interested in donating any points or cash, SBR can provide some type of match on those donations. Personally, I'd be willing to donate all my points to such a fund if it would help get the ball rolling.

Also, obviously no book wants to take on the entire $1.5M exposure, but the several books that have expressed an interest so far can start with a smaller allocation of maybe $100K-$150K with whatever terms they deem necessary. This could work as a test run to gauge the bailout's profitability, and if everything works out they can allocate the remainder of funds needed to get all players repaid.

Receiving a small amount of funds from several different sources can add up, and I'm sure everyone would accept gradual repayment over a year or two to being outright stiffed. Seems to me this would create a lot of goodwill for both SBR and the industry, and prevent things from deteriorating in the future.
Great post brother - I was thinking something very similar but as one who was robbed of a 3,300 balance, I would take a bailout consisting of my account balance which had to be rolled over 10x and the most I could withdraw would be the original 3,300. Even if I ran my winnings up to 10,000, I could still only withdraw the 3,300. This would mitigate any sharp action that would possible spoil the bailout.

The fact that their reporting of this has been so deplorable leads me to believe that their role in the scam was larger than i had originally thought..they still have a chance to redeem themselves by facilitating a bailout...their handling of this robbery has been so pathetic it makes me wonder if they give a rats ass about their reputation. They have videos where they discuss the industry but not a word about the betislands robbery that affected so many of their members..in one video they discussed an issue that someone had when they deposited 20 pounds but not a mention of a book that closes with over 1.5 million of peoples money..amazing.

Could it be that they hadn't heard of BI? BI was primarily a forum book. SBR forum book, this forum is where they snagged most of their clientele.

This is simply incorrect. I may have had a positive comment here or there, as about other books over the years, and at one point did see potential for them to be a good book, but I never pumped this or any other book. For instance, I commented positively about Betphoenix early on, or Matchbook, but later had to adjust that view. And did. Based on available information.

The probem is that I trusted SBR to keep us up to date on their financial security. They are the ones in CR claiming to review sportsbooks. Instead, it appears they withheld information when the book ran into trouble. I can assure you that I'm not the one with the forum and the banner adds, nor am I hanging out with Jon Kreta in CR, nor am I benefiting from the action of, what was recently referred to me by Ryan Rossi as, 'degenerate gamblers' (the context being that they had it coming anyway...). I'm simply among the ones holding SBR accountable for what they set out to do, and I'm not going to give them a pass because they forgot all about it.

Your allegation, or attempt to shift blame, is even more absurd when you consider that SBR has not reported the story (I learned far more from a bookmaker that I called), nor kept us up to date on the bailout plan. What do you want me to do? I've been fighting here for players, and not just in this case, but in plenty of others that did not concern me financially. Can you say the same? SBR carries a huge responsibility in the theft of 1.5 million dollars. As someone said earlier, they need to remember that BI would have been nothing without SBR, and that SBR would have been nothing without us. That's the bottomline.

Exactly. Their credibility is shot. Beyond repair. That's why I asked the 'man with the plan', one of the bookmakers I talked to, why that plan had to go through SBR in the first place. I still don't understand that. As to his opinion on the whole ordeal, he gave it to me straight, and it was a virtual copy of my own. So I feel good about where we stand today in this fight. It will go on with or without SBR. We're not going anywhere (unless they kick us out) until this theft is resolved.

Is it possible that SBR is the only ones with a full, accurate player list from BI? I know there is the spreadsheet that is all over the place, but several accounts are missing from that list, including mine. Perhaps SBR is the only group that actually has the full and accurate list, making them the only ones who can effectively broker a deal.

Obviously Bill didn't keep his promise to update yesterday. He needs to take his own advice and "man up" with where we all stand. Good or bad, I just want to hear it from him.

While this is true, SBR also played a role in deceptively conveying financial stability at the book, thus encouraging further deposits. Had they told the truth, others would have not deposited over the course of 1.5-2 months directly prior to insolvency.
