WSEX and Cascade stole players funds. Prior to that other top rated books did the same.

Sometimes the forums get fooled. It's the books fault, not the forum.

Of course this means nothing. SBR could come out and say they were involved and posters would still be here and be posting. Of course they aren't going to say that and who knows if they were involved.

This is just a new thing for the new posters but not new in the industry. Doesn't surprise me one bit. It will continue to happen as well.

This one was fishy. Forums may been at fault.

The one thing in common is that the books offer deals to suck posters in before tanking and running with the money. One book offered juice free bets. Another posted a SB line at 14.5 when all other books had 14.

Of course it's not the end of SBR but it does seem strange that some old idiot at Peeps called this in november and all these inside sources at SBR missed it.

With all the books out there and crooked people in the Industry, you can't expect the ratings to be perfect. Ratings will also be tainted to friends and money. It's not unique to sports betting forums, it's the way of the world.

Agreed.. honestly the market was entirely different with pan-am and cascade...but thieves never change.

WSEX SBR praised when trouble was clear.

Only point that needs be made is watch out for your own damn self. Don't trust any internet guide for honesty, especially one who is paid.

SBR can be reliable (more than can be said of some forums) but is by no means failproof. If you value your funds, keep an eye on them and don't trust a "guide".

SBR wasn't in on stealing funds from day 1 with BI. They did cover it up when they knew that BI was going under. They still had hopes that someone would buy BI out or save BI.

It may mean nothing to you. But it means PLENTY to me. As a result I have learned that SBR ratings are meaningless, as is anything told to us by SBR. All this thread accomplishes is to make the argument that it is time to stop betting off-shore.

Any link to this? And people call that books are going down all the time, a darts going to land sometime. Not doubting any of it, just really would like to know how SBR is tied into all of this.

true that people call books going under all the time to say see I told you so. They do it with 30 books. Sooner or later they are right. This wasn't the case with MBENZ.

Posters should say whatever they want. But they should be factual. Some of this stuff being posted is off the charts.

But don't discount what they say... this is what's going to make SBR even better than what it is. And the next time a book is rated B and people are bitching at us they must not being paying enough to get that A rating, I'll say look at BetIslands and stfu.

No, it means if offers are too good to be true, don't take it. Great reasons to play at many books.

you made a good post the other day. If you say something good about a book, people claim that you are on the take or they find one grammatical error and beat it to death. They do the same to posters that say something good about a book. Some books are good. If a poster says something good about Heritage, from personal experience, then they are called a shill.

I like all books up top that Americans can play at except for Bovada and BOL. That's just an opinion and I'm not paid or want to be paid by SBR or any of those books.

Raiders, I get what your saying here, but I think your forgetting why recent events take on a whole new level of frustration with players. SBR was the main marketing platform for BetIslands. SBR showed its ugly hand with not only collusion, but more importantly showing players a two-faced system. The second point proves hypocrisy with little concern for its viewers and i doubt any watchdog site looks good after its viewers see its evil under belly.

Please read the SBR Scam content to showcase what I'm referring too- http://www.sportsbookreview.com/sportsbook/scams/ After reading it, how much does that sound like BetIslands.

I agree, other sites like Sportsbook Advisors, EOG, Covers and RX also pitched lame books like Lazer Wager, Bet911, Lay104, BetPanam, and a slew of other crap books. Indeed, those so called watch dog websites continue to thrive after serious fiascos, but in every case players and the industry got hurt.

My point is this, lots and lots of SBR players got scammed by BI because they understood it to be a safe place to bet and that is why you see its ugly ramifications. It's unfortunate for everyone involved, but an easy book to beat ain't gonna be easy anymore because its gonna be gone.

The guy with the last laugh is the guy who ran it into the ground. Everyone who got sucked into bed with him is left picking up the pieces.

Some good points here. many are new and did not go thru ESB or BOS or Cascade etc. I said then and I say now that SBR gets way too cozy with some of these folks. Lenny could not have perpetrated his fraud to the fullest extent without having "friends" at SBR. With that being the case, I am gradually recouping my mid 5 figure loss from Cascade/Lenny via SBR John. I have always assumed that John's point/money give aways here and the cards I received at poker tourney in Costa Bash were all part of a secret scheme to pay me back for my loss. I can now openly thank John for that and hope he continues paying me back. I figure 3 years from now at current pace--I will just abt be even with Cascade screwin i took. Not that that settles the score for Lenny. His is still coming due.

Have to agree with that. SBR did make BI so you have a valid point. SBR and the RX did the same with PanAm. They made that book with their accolades.

That was one heavy underdog that went belly up Tuesday.

A- to A+ Elite, top 1% of all Sportsbooks, Guaranteed safety & quality.
B- to B+ Good, minimal risk to players funds. Top 10% of all books.
C- to C+ Average to below average cust. Service with some risk to players funds.
D- to D+ Poor, some risk to players funds. Poor customer service, etc.
F Outright scam, book on brink of failure.

I think BP may help with this one too which is why I posted that EOG and SBR should get together.

edit- It just sunk in what you meant. I was slow on the uptake.
