So Bookmaker, probably the safest book for the whales, who paid 7 figures and changed withdrawal rules to accommodate poster flabrah5 is looking to stiff a couple newbies here for a $1000 total. Thats the most comical thing ever. Obviously there is connection to some fraud account probably a charge back issue or some fraud. They have right to refuse you like any business esp if security team flagged you...why else wouldn't they want your dead moneyLeave a comment:

@moderators, can you please attempt to contact them? The other guy in this forum just hit the two-week mark and still hasn't gotten their money back. Something is definitely going on here.Leave a comment:

"Your account did not pass our security filters and it has been permanently closed.
I am afraid you cannot have an account with us .
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause .
If you have funds in the account you will need to allow a few business days for the investigation in the account to be completed in order to withdraw your deposit ."
just contacted them back after ~48-72 hours, and got the above response.Leave a comment:

Okay, so now we have at least 3 Bookmaker accounts who all appear to be under investigation after performing the same steps within the last couple of weeks.
SBR User: PrettyBadBet (brand new user)
Incident Date: ~9/19 (reported on 10/3, says happened 2 weeks ago)
What happened: New account, bitcoin deposit
First Report: https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...l#post30568735
SBR User: Z-Fly (user since 2013)
Incident Date: 9/21
What happened: New account, $300 bitcoin deposit
First Report: https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...l#post30555919
SBR User: carlmon (brand new user)
Incident Date: Unknown (reported on 10/1 but date of incident not specified)
What happened: New account, $500 bitcoin deposit
First Report: https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...l#post30564802
Did I miss any other reports? This happening to 3 people / accounts within the same time period is very curious.
A couple of users speculated that it must be because they made a bitcoin deposit as their first deposit on a brand new Bookmaker account. But that doesn't make any sense, since that's what their business IS. Making everyone go through this process wouldn't be a great way to encourage betting on their platform, and we've never heard of such problems there anyways. User @carlmon says Bookmaker told them "our security filters caught something and your account is now under investigation". This rings truer to me, but what could that be?
So what's gong on over at Bookmaker?
@carlmon - Can you clarify when this first happened to you?
Relevant detail - I made a post on reddit and two other people are having the exact same issue as I am.Leave a comment:

Dont do you find it weird all 3 knew to report on their first post to SBR and all had the same thing happen to them lol.
Probably a group up to something and they have been caught.Leave a comment:

I checked the actual transaction on blockchain and everything has gone through. They have the money. I think just having a new account with a bitcoin deposit could be a flag for them. Who knows, it's been two weeks and anytime I come into live chat to check in 72 hours per there request I get attitude. I don't holler at them just asking for a simple status update. Sucks but at the time it is what it is.Leave a comment:

If they had a delayed reaction, I could see offshores caring fck all.Leave a comment:

Since Coinbase frowns on gambling sites, is it possible that they had something to do with the transaction issue?Leave a comment:

Been with Bookmaker 12 years and they have been a class-act operation without exception. They are forced to deal with angle-shooters all day every day. They were a lot nicer to you than I would have been. They and Pinny quite literally set the lines for the market but they're looking to take you off for $500?Leave a comment:

Same thing happened to me two weeks ago. I think it could be because of a bitcoin deposit. I sent BTC from my coinbase account and my account was instantly locked and now under investigation. I haven't had luck with live chat either.Leave a comment:

As someone else has already stated, when casinos, banks, etc. have you under investigation, they don't tell you what it's for. Any information they provide suspected fraudsters would only serve to make them better fraudsters.
I'm not saying you definitely are one. I'm just saying that their behavior is completely rational if you step outside of yourself and view this from an outside perspective.
Being calm, cool, and collected is the best thing you can do in situations like this. In fact, I've found that it's the scammers who show up here who are the loudest and most obnoxious on average. They know they've been caught.Leave a comment:

That most likely rules out bitcoin as the problem. I used CA for four years and never had an issue, until CA shut down my account. Look at it this way, it’s much better to have your account frozen now than when you are trying to withdraw. At the worst, you get your deposit back. If they froze it when you were trying to withdraw you could potentially lose winnings, and any prior deposits.Leave a comment:

I sent money with CASHAPP, and it got credited to my account within 10 minutes. If that's what it is, I'd be relieved.Leave a comment:

The craziest part about this whole thing is I haven't placed a single wager with them. They can ban me all they want for being upset with them and childish things but they have no reason to hold on to my money.Leave a comment:

so basically your saying use state side legal books. these offshore books are not in the business of monitoring every new account that opens up. they are in the business to profit that is it. that's why they have terms of service. break rules then confiscation of winnings is punishment. if they did not do that it would be scam city and tons of headache's for them. No issue here on how offshore works one bit to do KYC at time of registration is ridiculous and way to time consuming for them and playerLeave a comment:

Why is it these fukin books have ZERO PROBLEM TAKING A DEPOSIT. Its only AFTER u give them your cash, they either let u bet it and if you lose, u are free to deposit again, or there is a suspected multi account or wtf ever the issue might be. If you dare win and take a withdraw, seems to be a 3 month investigation every fukin time. The industry is in dire need of a 3rd party escrow and player verification service where the bet fuds are sent to the book if the players bet loses or sent back to the player if the bet wins. No deposits until player is fully verified. Be no more of this holding funds hostage. Customers would also get more or less immediate responses to any "investigation" as the book would not have the funds to hold and they require funds to operate.

2 things to unpack here:
1 - I really don't think that bookmaker would give any shit about your mere 300 USD deposit, so your deposit must have been involved in some nasty shit.
2 - Acting like a tool will not help your case. Whipping out profanities, hateful comments etc is childish and stupid.
If I were to work there, I would ban you from chat until you learn how to behave.Leave a comment:

tell me that this isn't shady.
This is a conversation I had with the live chat:
You: Hey Monica, I am checking in on my account status. I should be hearing from management anytime now and get the greenlight to go ahead and start gambling
22:52, Oct 1
Monica: Sir, your account is closed and will remain closed.
22:53, Oct 1
Monica: You just need to wait to make your withdraw.

that is a interesting angle. It happened a while back at Fairlay, if it comes from a known hacked account or stolen somehow technology today can track. Good point PD77Leave a comment:

This statement here “22:57, Oct 1 Monica: You will for sure your money, we don't want it.” almost makes it sound like they froze your account because of the bitcoin you sent. Maybe they think it’s dirty.Leave a comment:
