I somehow made it onto BetDOS' spam e-mail list and they keep sending me info about promos. I haven't signed up because of the warnings here. But I noticed this recent change in SBR info:
BetDOS (SBR rating D+) management reports parting ways with scam sportsbook owner
7/2/2009 11:04:55 PM
BetDos was identified as a sportsbook using turnkey service provider MXA SystemsBetDOS reported moving to BLR software and their own server and database. Max was the host, and in some cases owner, of scam books such as DunHill Casino (SBR rating F), Atlantisbets (SBR rating F), BetBones (SBR rating F) and PremiumBettor (SBR rating F). in March. Shortly after discussing their rating with Sportsbook Review and learning more about Max, the owner of MXA and the scams he has been involved in,
Yet, in one of their earlier spam e-mails dated April 30, they said the following:
Rumor: Bet DOS is owned by "a scam service operated by Max and is located on their servers".
Fact: Bet DOS is owned by partners from the Hotel Flamingo and is not located on "Max" servers nor has any partnership relation with him.
So were BetDOS lying, knowing their connection with "Max", and THEN severing ties with him? Or did they sever ties really soon (so technically they had no connection with him by the time of their e-mail) BUT SBR didn't know about this until recently?
If they were lying, the fact that they severed their connections gives me no reason to ever consider depositing there. Does anyone know?
I also wondered why anyone would use BetFirstClass if it is connected to the same dubious backer? And why would BetFirstClass have come in rated at D, whereas BetDOS came in rated at D-, apparently because of their connection with "Max"? (Though I note they're both at D+ now). Unless I misunderstood the BetBones - BetFirstClass connection, shouldn't BetFirstClass and BetDOS have both been D- initially? And shouldn't BetFirstClass be lower than BetDOS now, if they haven't parted ways with "Max" but BetDOS have?
