A shill is someone who poses as a regular gambler when in fact they work for a bookie. They post praise for their book, pretending to be a satisfied customer, in the hope it will get others to use that book too.
Shills are generally the sign of a bad book - a good book won't need to rely on such tactics as their good reputation will encourage custom.
Obvious shills tend to differ from genuine satisfied customers in that:
1) They will often only post about that one book
2) They will tend to appear in every thread about that book
3) They often try and dismiss negative claims from other users as either the players fault or flat out untrue
4) They will also insult people who express a negative opinion of that book.
