For sure they do. Any small bookie has files on their serious punters and this info is fed into a central DB if its a large bookie. You would be amazed at some of the people bookies track i.e. you don;t have to have a big swinging dick.

so how do they stop people from betting? you could always ask for someone else to do it for you.

the main shops in uk is ladbrokes and william hill

they have to call head office if u want a decent bet,

they rely on mug punters putting on 15 team soccer acca's

they will not take decent bets on any american sports as they dont make there money on us sports

they make cash on soccer, uk horse racing and greyhounds

You can get £2,000 on without too many problems if they don't know you (I have done this many times). Most very serious punters, who need to get bets on with bookies rather than exchanges, would use a network. A lot of the time bookies are the only place where you can get money on so having this network in place is very important. These networks are quite complex.

Do they ask ID when you place bets?

In Sweden/Norway/Finland if you play at Svenska Spel/Norsk Tipping/Veikkaus they only ask ID if they don't think you are 18. You can place as much money as you want in a kiosk, but there are restrictions on the amounts you can place daily when playing online at least in Finland (3000EUR).

You do not provide i.d. when you bet in a betting shop in the u.k. (the punters would revolt if asked so much as their name)
If you want a large bet, say £1000+ it is best to split it up and place in several shops. You will find plenty.

If you go to a city such ad london then just put 100 on in 10 shops,

There is shops in every town in the Uk nearly.

The odds are woeful and not the same as online.

If u went in to bet us sports an alarm would go off as they dont take much shop action on nfl, nba etc...

Its usually old men sitting in these shops putting on 10p lucky 15,s

Don't think the odds are necessarliy woeful. Juice is probably higher but they often hold prices in shops long after they have been reduced online.
