Station Casinos SportsConnection - Now Mobile

Just found out today that they released their mobile app last week.

That now makes 3 different LV books with mobile apps.

    WillHill LV
    Cantor
    Stations

Now we just need LVH and others to get the ball rolling.

Stations has shit lines for most part and when I lived in Vegas and had an account they limited me to $50 on any fb plays online or in person. That company sucks.

Just another option, and they sometime have good odds on NASCAR.

But if they limit to 50 bucks, that would suck. I haven't been yet, in person anyway.

I actually don't mind Station Casinos myself, watched the Jets/Chargers and Texans/Titans at the Fiesta last October, place was rocking for such a small operation. Also liked the location of that one personally as it was well off the strip and you got the feel in the air of what living in a desert is like.

I am gainfully employed in a sportsbook here in Vegas. Without saying too much as to get me in trouble.... Let's just say I have a firsthand knowledge of what's going on with Stations mobile app. IMO - Here are the benefits:
    1. bettors will be able to place bets 24 hrs a day (wh and cantor's mobile apps are open only when the sportsbook is open)
    2. Bettors will be able to accrue player points for bets they make on their mobile app
    3. low deposit minimum's (50 bucks)

As some other posters mentioned, there are some concerns when betting with Stations. I imagine those concerns will remain as they roll out this brand new software. The mobile app is tied into GPS so of course you will have to be located in the state of Nevada to place wagers.

OK, I get that you need to be in Vegas to participate, which I'm not. I wonder if I bought a "throw-away" phone in Vegas (with a Vegas number) could I place wagers from out of state?

Or, what about a proxy number.....

    ....just thinkin'

Just DL, but I'm sure it has to be a Nevada DL.

The only benefit I could see is that the app allows players to bet EPL between closing time (10-12 PM usually) to 8 AM when they finally are ready to take bets for the day. I'm sure they have it on auto-action move anyways so it's first come, first serve for sharps.

Never willingly allow a Vegas casino to track your wagers.

When I set up they requested nv dl, ss and a utility bill as proof of residence. Ran the account from 5k to 16k with small fb plays and hoops before they cut me off. I middled them 2x on NFL totals in a week when they first opened and they never forgave me. One was the SF/Sea game on a Thurs when the total dropped 6 or7 points due to snow and the other was Pit vs Cle or Cin. Screw them.

I'm sure you have legit reasons to dislike them. Some pointed out above.

I'm just pointing out they went mobile, and it seems the valley is going mobile.

It is good to have as a out, if needed.

Yes, Stations limits and cuts bettors off more quickly than other Vegas books (often to their own detriment, imo), but to claim they suck because of this is not a fair charge. The reason they have a quick hook is because they are one of the only books in town with balls enough to hang their own lines and take opinions. They open lines on small market sports (some boxing and some auto racing for sure), and on major markets they often have the best price on MLB and football totals. They also comp better than any other book in Vegas. If you're going to call them out for the cons, you should mention the pros of the book as well.

I can't speak for the mobile app, but from my desktop the Sports Connection closes at 11PM. Before the update I could bet 24/7.

    True.

The Mobile App allows you to get in the book, but they take the games off the board. You can only bet futures, props, Boxing, NASCAR, etc. after the stated times above.

I opened a Cantor account with an out of state DL and had no problems. One of the worst wagering platforms ever, and a smaller menu than it sounds like the others are offering.

Cantor is the worst of the 3. Laggy, slow loading and doesn't have everything offered in the Sportsbook. If it's in the book, it should be on the App. Their new PC version is no better.

Here is how I rank the 3 Apps:

    1. WillHill LV
    2. Stations
    3. Cantor

I've only had the Stations App for a couple days, and already rank it over Cantor (Had Cantor since March).

I'm a little out of the loop but I think the Cantor account you created is one that can only be used in designated areas. Used mostly by tourists for betting while on vacation. To have a full time functioning account requires you to be a resident of NV.

Ian-I dislike Stations period. Numerous reasons but they try to do right by locals.

Stations is the best for college basketball (nba as well)
You can get good numbers all day.
Line moves at Pinny and everywhere else and you usually have 3-4 minutes (sometimes longer, sometimes less) to get to the window and get a good number. I would see a move I liked, get over and get a few hundred down. Never any problem. If you're doing this over your phone you'll get cut off.

Also, last year during the tournament they left the first round Louisville game up like 6 minutes into the game. 1st half line was Louisville -4 or something, at this point they are already up by 5 or so. Walk up to the window, bet the first half, obviously not for the limit but a few hundred. Hands me the ticket....

Great book. Just HAVE to stay low key.
Don't bet limits (especially in-game) and spread action around. Get the card if they make you, just use is sparingly. They'll always ask and just say you forgot or left it at home or whatever. If you want rouge lines Stations has them, as well as two books in Reno. Jerry's Nugget may as well, never bet there much although did a decent RR one cfb weekend that went well just fading public sides and got a few decent numbers.
