Canbet got sold from the IAS group a while back. Has ownership changed yet?
While Canbet may or may not be currently classed as an Australian book (was it UK licensed anyway??)its former owner IAS certainly is and they have been giving foreign players some grief as well.
As an Aussie I find it very disappointing because I have always maintained that Australian sportsbooks are the most ethical (relatively speaking!) in the world. Probably because it is the most regulated country for sportsbooks. They know they can't get away with duping Australian players not only because of regulation but also because companies like CentreBet, IAS Bet, SportingBet Australia and Sportsbet.com.au have massive media advertising and are recognised household names by even those with no interest in gambling.
It looks like they may be prepared to get away with pulling a swifty on foreign players assuming they don't know how to respond. I don't know if Canbet now comes under Aust regulation - I don't think so but if they do then I would certainly go up that path.
As a generalisation I think playing at sportsbooks in your own country or region gives you that little bit extra security.

File the complaint. Complaint handling by IASbet and Canbet has gone to hell. With the complaints I see and their responses, I would have trouble rating them higher than D+ if this continues.

With change of ownership of both Canbet and IAS Bet - why would they be stuffing players around?

Strange way to act from Canbet to be honest. I must admit I never had any real difficulties with them, but lately I'm not
playing anymore with them. After reading a few topics here about their sudden change of rules about some sort of bonus, it gave
me a bad taste. And most of all, there is not one single benefit Canbet has in comparation with other bookies: their payout sucks (amount stays at least 24 hours in account, in case you 'change your mind'), their juice (soccer) is a lot higher compared to the Asians, and they don't have anything special to offer another book is lacking.

In conclusion: there are a lot of places where you could better place your bets.

No change. Canbet's CS is still crap. They continue robbing players with no proof, claiming "shared environments". They pulled a Sportsbook.com stunt - canceling winning correlated parlays from players.

At this point, I would stay FAR AWAY from Canbet.

Yes I agree when US players were allow to play their and allow to use neteller and *******. I was payed within 40 minutes or less all the time. Never had a problem back then with them. Guess things change with management.

Canbet is an Australian bookie and I know that the gambling industry in Australia is highly regulated ... so perhaps there is an official OZ body which can help lodge a compkaingt against these guys. SBR are doing a great job in general but their powers are at times limited - perhaps in this case lodging an official complaint with some Australian body would be effective. Any OZ players here to provide some input?

Generally Canbet are a safe book - but like any other book if you step over the line by opening mutliple accounts through the same IP or on the same PC, can put you at risk.

They were actually owned by IAS bet until recently and IAS bet and Canbet are still looked after by the same customer service. IAS Bet have been a bit strange lately to overseas based customers as well.

Aussies don't need to worry as much as ROW.

You can fill your complaint, but 4 or 5 portuguese players have done the same, and until now,no one could help us, not even justin. i think that our money are lost.
I think that could be an error of Canbet, because thay do the same to all portuguese players, i have told that to justin but he couldn't do anything till now.

The reason was shared environments.... and i asked them what is shared environments and they can't explain me what is shared environments... was a weak excuse to stole my winnings. And i'm not the only in this situation they did the same to a few more players.

Today i tried to login several times and it says the account doesn't exist.
This is clearly a scam for what i have read here, how come they are allowed still to continue this robbery?

I like this two situations:

KennyC: we will investigate your account and we refund your deposit back to your MBookers account.

This is clearly a prove of what they are doing, the SOB says that the documents are being reviewed, but moments later he slips off by saying that after the so called investigation the account will be closed and the deposit refunded.

So they still do not reviewed the documents, they still do not investigated nothing but the conclusion is already made???
