I know a lot of Canadians are on the forum here and figured maybe some of yall came from USA at one point or another.. or maybe u have friends that did and know some rules with regards to sportsbetting or poker regulations.
I will be moving there eventually but with laws I have to first obtain a visitor **** for 6 months and get a work permit to obtain permit residency later on... The work permit and obtaining a job seems like a difficult task in and of itself and truthfully the laws are crazy in where u cant obtain a work permit without having a job offer, yet on the same guideline u cannot look for jobs while on visitor ****. LOL. so how in the hell do they expect people to get a job offer if u cannot look for work?
In any case the above things have me so confused... but I have 6 months to figure that out I suppose... In the meantime I want to get down to gambling legally in Canada.
Some questions I have about gambling in general:
1. How soon after moving there can I begin to bet at Pinnacle or other sites that are for other countries outside of USA? What kind of proof do I need that shows I am in Canada or is it as simple as an IP check they do?.. Sorry if this sounds fairly obvious.. but from the outside looking in I want to begin betting there since I am officially moving there anyway.
2. in the usa.. everything is looked at with scrutiny.. transactions.. bank deposits.. etc.. Can I simply get a bank account there and start loading and unloading funds to a sportsbook now that I am in Canada? or do they still not have a fond policy on gaming transactions?.. Or with moneybookers or whatever maybe is the traditional way of doing things.. how hard is it to get a mb acct and begin to fund and transfer/etc that way? Can I get any of this done within a few weeks of being there or?
For the record I will have a permanent address there and will be living legitimately.. I just can only use visitor pass for now due to the laws and how long applying for other immigration status takes (12-24 months to become upgraded basically). For legality purposes i definitely do have a sponsor and am looking for a company to work at which will help in the issuing of a work permit to become fully sponsored in that realm also.
One final question to anyone who reads this from SBR Staff directly.. Lou/Shari/Justin7/John/Bill/Sam/Rod/Loshak/etc and many more...or anyone else with this example and experience moving while being a forum memeber.
What will this do to my status on sbr?.. Am I all of a sudden able to participate as a Canadian player for poker/store/etc other purposes?... what do I need to submit to yall to prove that I am in Canada and will be there long term?
any other help or follow up questions are welcome and appreciated
thx guys
