I'm guessing the job you are so worried about keeping a clean record for has no problem with you trolling a sports betting forum all day making posts like that

Most states i have looked at make sports betting (including online) illegal for the bettor. However, in these states it doesn't seem to be a priority or even a concern and the laws are not enforced. Similar to prosecution of working girls when resources would be better spent netting johns. It's really a non-starter.

Similarly the discussion of unlicensed practice of law in this thread is also a non-starter. The statues making this an offense are put in place to 1) protect the public from fraudsters and 2) protect the profession and it's elite status. From the caselaw I have seen, this thread is so far from anything cognizable on that claim it is laughable (even more so than a bettor being charged with illegal sports gambling).

    Just my $.02

There are plenty of archaic state laws that don't apply today like in Florida "When having sex, only the missionary position is legal."

Breaking the law , breaking the law.

Why does this thread exist. If someone doesn't realize it's obviously illegal to gamble they are retarded. It's just an extremely low risk of being caught unless you are doing huge sums of cash. Also Governments can't waste the time and money chasing down some clowns betting 200 bucks a day or so.

If it was legal every sportsbook would be a .com

I'm sure that The Feds, and Suits in DC could care less about the betting part as opposed to getting their greedy paws on any profit you may make from it. I'm surprised they haven't made it legal already with a huge tax percentage on the winnings.

this is true, but on the flipside, would all the "squares" who lose money be able to claim capital losses?

I said it was illegal, I also said goverment didnt pay attention to it, as it is not a priority, I also want to add that I dont know about one case where some one has been prosecuted for betting online. All I have today is thanks to illegal things I have done, (never stole from anyone) I mean illegal as betting is illegal. I just dont do it because is illegal and I'm a loser, If I was a winner i would do it eyes closed. I just dont want to do something illegal and get nothing out of it but loses.

The truth comes out..you went broke so you are trying to tell everyone else to stop betting and scare them with the word illegal..that's some funny shit.

Well sorry about you sucking at gambling but that doesn't make it illegal to place a bet

Where ever I live in the world, my only requirements are a computer and internet connection to place my bets, and a gun to keep law enforcement off my land. If it is illegal to bet online, good luck trying to bring me in alive.

so as long as you could win at illegal sportsbetting, you wouldn't care that it's illegal. but since you lose, you want the laws more readily enforced so as to prevent you from losing more? you basically want to be policed?

No, I want it to be legal. How does it make it illegal saying it is illegal. It is illegal. There was not need to dabate about it. If I ever feel I'm ready to win I'll bet. I dont care if it is illegal as long as I can make a living out of it, as a hobbie I care.
