Why don't the Vegas sportsbooks set up on-line websites/accounts?

Just no way around the legal ramifications I would assume? With off-shore books struggling to keep U.S. players on their docket, I would think this could be a prime opportunity for Vegas sportsbooks to take to the Internet. Is there no legal way for the sportsbooks in Vegas to make betting a satellite operation?

Figured there would be something like that.

It's amazing how inefficient, unfocused and clumsy our government can be with everything other than cracking down on gambling.

Poker probably in a year or so. Sports is highly unlikely. Casino operators aren't trying to push for it.

Vegas can't lose on poker, they just rake the pot. They can lose on sports.

Long term yes, but short term not always. There are peaks and valleys with sportsbooks profits. They're subject to more variance. Vegas wouldn't mind just having online poker and raking the pots, low overhead and high profit margins.

Im opposed to any federal regulation of online poker since taxation linked to online play can link over with live play. Most states do have card rooms. Im in Northern cali. Theres 15 cardrooms within 20 miles here. La is a 5 hours drive, vegas a 2 hour flight. I dont need online poker.

MUHerd, several casinos offer online betting to Nevada residents.

    Station Casinos = Sports Connection
South Point/Gold Coast, etc have their own online sports betting platform as well.

To get around the law of no sports wagering over the internet, they have technology in place that allows you to bet at home from your computer without being on the internet (when you log on to their sports betting platform, you can not use the internet at the same time).
