Bogog.eu has changed it's name to Bovada.
The franchise/branding agreement with Bodog was terminated.

Bah.. an imaginary agreement ended.. so, they had to change the name soon or imaginary they'd of went off line. This company has backdated stories about their history etc for a long ass time on countless occasions. On the same night bookmaker and 10 other sites had their domains siezed and other sites changed their they issued press releases that MMGG was changing the domain to expand into European market and had done the deal for the .eu brand a few years earlier and felt this was much better strategy going forward (yes, because obviously no one in Europe has heard of a .com or wouldn't trust it if it wasn't .eu). Something like that. Could go on and on.

In any case, I'm not in their heads but basically.. Mohawk Indians can not be arrested in Kahnawake and this gives us a credible line and helps separate US assets from non US is my best guess. Whatever the truth is on any topic you'll unlikely ever get that truth from Bodog.. So yes brand expired is the official story*

As far as sports betting goes this is neither here nor there. BetCris did the same BS story stuff for a long time too (or at least enjoyed others selling it) and has a great reputation - it's not hard to understand. Bodog has always paid, there was long delays in 2008, there was complaints about multiple claimed past posts regarding live betting without anyone able to say it ever went the other ways.. there are few other issues as well. BUT.. for the most part these guys have a clean enough reputation and pay. Whatever the minor issues are could always avoid them.. For example okay don't bet the wrong side of a shaded line. Don't use their live betting.. etc. etc. There have been plenty of ways to use Bodog and get paid just fine. (also for the live betting issues, I forget what the max bet was but it was ridiculously low.. still fishy but with the money they were making at the time would of been silly means to cheat *with the people complaining though there was some issue though* Anyways your typical B to A- type book. They pay and there's also value to be found using them selectively. (though at the moment payout delays so be a little careful imo, but suspect they'll be fine). Good account to have overall, though sitting it out just for now to see that they handle the high payout volumes fine.

That is quite a rant there, prop. Not sure how it is relevant to the OPs question but nvm.

Being from the UK, I can't play with Bovada even if I wanted to and Bodog.co.uk is the biggest joke of a sportsbook I have ever seen. I am sure there is more to the story than has been said and the 'smoke signals' are concerning.

Sorry I thought the question was "why did they change their name?" and went on to say probably not for the reason you'll here but wanted clarify that wasn't really an attack on Bodog. I have a feeling I misunderstood the question. Even rereading OP now I'm rather confused.

The OP relates to the newspaper "USA Today" referencing Bovada lines/odds.

Hi all. To start - the Bovada.LV Customer Service team is ready and available to answer your questions at 1-888-263-0000, or you can shoot an email to service@bovada.lv.

Just to clarify, what has changed is the brand name. Previously Morris Mohawk Gaming Group licensed the use of the Bodog Brand to operate, but we will now operate separately under the Bovada Brand name. We are offering the same service, products and overall gaming experience that were previously offered by Bodog.eu.
