Help! Betonline is trying to take over $12k from me.

The purpose of the message is to see if anyone knows what I can do about this, and to warn other people from depositing money into BetOnline.

Here's my story. I cashed in for $700 about 5 months ago. I currently have around $12,700 in my account. I requested a payout 3 months ago, after a month of the sometimes regular sending my documents over and over, those were finally approved. Then out of the blue I was accused of chip dumping to a single player (I don't even remember playing against someone with that name).

They said my account was "under review" by the poker department. I have since called over 25 times and sent over 100 emails. Finally, yesterday they said my account was closed. I have been calling non stop and they tell me to email operations@betonline.com. Then they tell me to call customer service. Finally, after getting a supervisor on the phone (after 10 tries), she tells me there is nothing she or I can do. Apparently the "poker department" made the decision. But they have no email or phone number supposedly. They refuse to send me any hand histories or provide the slightest details or let me defend myself in any way.

I know I am new to the forum, but have been playing poker since 2004, mostly on Bodog (username DMW). Just found this forum in a web search.

Is there anything I can do?

fwiw player has 40,000+ hands at Bodog just on one database that doesn't track all hand. If can be established that's for sure his account can at least note he is a poker a player.

I wish SBR would take a look at past complaints where the players are now on other forums still claiming BetOnline stole their balance

Sounds like if you're a winning poker player then you shouldn't play at BOL. Too much of a hassle to actually get paid. B+ rating.......

For not being able to figure out how to send hand histories, the grab and seize poker investigation department has sure gotten the seizures down to an art.

This stuff kills the industry...B+...have to dump poker or have the whole operation downgraded

maybe there should be something similar to the titanbet on the main page. something like 5th poker player accused of chipdumping, 6th poker player accused of chip dumping etc

Probably will not happen. Titan Bet gets pounded for voiding bets. A 50 freeplay issue makes the wire. Actuall seizures and accounts being locked by a sponsor who cant figure out how to send hand histories will not make it....care to guess the keyword?

The SBR news wire claimed a player confessed. That same player is on 2+2 saying he was banned by SBR and Betonline stole his balance. Don't expect much coverage on the news feed.

betonline is highly recommended by sbr so if they accuse you of chip dumping, then that must be the case. you dont deserve your funds, betonline deserves to keep them. (sarcasm)

Yeah, I think it definitely should go on the main page. I understand this a sportsbook review website but it's part of the BOL operation. Players should know that if you play for mid-level or high stakes, then you should beware of being accused of chip dumping. Honestly, what is this, the 5th complaint? Obviously it's unjust because they never provide hand histories.

I would believe the 2+2 version. You may recall I had a slow pay turned bounced check complaint versus BOL. I was relentless, but finally did get paid. However, during the process of bitching about BOL, SBR slowed my response ability to a snail's pace. At first, I thought it was a coincidence, however I quickly figured out it was personal. I could log out and view the forum at lightning pace, but log back in and I was slowed considerably--I was definitely singled out. Worse, just when I finally got paid, I received a "banned forever" notice when I tried to post my payment was received. Obviously, it has since been removed, at least for now. True story. BOL sucks and if saying so ultimately gets me banned, so be it.

If you dumped chips to someone, the remedy is to undo the transfer, close both accounts, and pay both accounts. Even if a sportsbook can prove that a player dumped chips, that does not justify seizing the whole player balance.

I'm not going to post this over and over again but I do agree with bubba here. There are no other explanations and will share this in detail one time. The majority of these disputes have NOT been resolved. And to be clear, resolution is not always paying the player but it does involve proving his guilt or paying him. There are many players who had their funds confiscated. The ones resolved so far are 1) a player with a verifiable long term win rate (this was known to BetOnline later but not covered in thread - if he wasn't paid there would been the story everywhere) and 2) a poker celebrity well known on forums, training sites etc. These were the two cases resolved.

Those who are not known, don't campaign well, state their case well.. have a much lower chance. SBR could be told it was CC fraud, chip dumping ring, etc. etc. and that's the end of it. The reason one of these unresolved complaints I found fishy was because BetOnline changed the reason for his fund confiscation several times. Also no doubt not everyone is going to make it to these forums. According to the poster in this complaint of this thread, he's been stalled for several months.

Also keep in mind these are not open cases. These are players who were shown no indication an investigation was still going on (outside of WiltonTilt - he was only one who complained while his account was still under review). The others were entire balance confiscations one of which was reversed. One! The highest profile one.

This is exactly how the scam works. Sportsbook.com for example had a history of operating clean for a while, building trust and then every couple year making a major cash grab. I won't get into who is who here, but there are a few key Sportsbook.com individuals now with BetOnline also keep in mind there was all these sportsbook.com sold rumors and LOL responses from staff "I was told it wasn't" instead of denial just before the affiliate program closed Sportsbook staff ended up here (not sure if relevant or not).and what is going at BetOnlline sure looks a hell of a lot similar to a sportsbook.com big winner cash grab. Meanwhile the high profile cases do get resolved (the PR hit is great). These are used to show the company does resolve disputes, helps support the cases where they do get away with it where the PR hit is much lower. Most focus only on the high profile dispute and good job the company did the right thing. This is extremely classic D+ actions. They fit the profile extremely well too - large bonus offers, promotions, celebrity sponsors, high paying affiliate programs, sponsorship on every forum etc. If you look past the few resolutions and see there is a TON of complaints with the same story line over and over - it starts to appear obvious that it fits the same profile.

As bubba stated there is no other explanation here. If you want to believe BetOnline is trustworthy well you now need to change the SBR tag line that has been posted by so many members that BetOnline has never cheated a player, to BetOnline has never intentionally cheated a player. Because the evidence players are being cheated is obvious. This is due to high number of already closed and begging for them to be reopened cases hitting forums where where entire balances were confiscated. How many scammers could there possibly be that run up those balances AND make it to the point they are now requesting payment, and how many professional players can there be that run up those balances. I'm sure a shill can jump in to answer this question, and also yes complaints are what get posted not positive experiencing.. So not even sure while I'l ask, consider it rhetorical I suppose - but has anyone ever won $15,000 at BetOnline Poker and been able to cash it out without being accused of being a cheat? Has this EVER happened? Even if so, I think the number of complaints here and elsewhere (and there several posted elsewhere, and I'm sure others still calling and emailing who haven't complained) speak volumes to what is happening here. At this point if wanting to keep selling the same line I think you need to change it to BetOnline has never INTENTIONALLY cheated a player, because without that added word I strongly suspect the statement is a lie. At best incompetent, at worse crooks. No other explanation imo.

This is either grossly incompetent negligence (ANOTHER chip dumping claim with a player who has his account closed?!?!) or outright fraud. There's really no in between at this point.

The two possibilities aren't mutually exclusive. BOL is certainly grossly incompetent and because of this, they need to do selective thefts against the larger winners to show a profit. As someone alluded to, it's basically the SportsBook.com business model, but with one huge difference--SB.com was never an SBR recommended Book.

Prop, you might as well plug your own poker site too. You've written 2+2 more than elementary school teachers.

And for the record, "Quang" isn't banned from SBR. He was temporarily on timeout, and interestingly hasn't even contacted us for weeks. He's a big boy, he's free to post without a translator.

The people on this forum are smart. My faith in humanity is slowly moving back upward...

So far today I have called 5 times (because I was told I would hear a "final" decision about my account today). I talked to a supervisor named Jacki (which is a miracle in itself). She finally assured me that I would receive an email from George (who is in the poker department and supposedly has no phone number and no email) in the next hour. Obviously didn't. Every time I have called back I have gotten a different excuse why I can't speak to Jacki (she is out to lunch, she is in a meeting, etc.)

What's the normal procedure on the audit of this Lou?

    Hi DMW4,

It makes the picture fuzzy if you continually call, speak with random employees operating on stale notes that are removed from the core situation. You filed a sportsbook complaint through SBR, and we've reached out to the relevant managers for an update. My best advice (and one that may preserve your own sanity) is to stop calling and going on live chat. Let SBR help you bridge the communication gap.

To speak generally on the length of poker audits, as SBR reported recently, BetOnline plans to expand its poker management and staff to avoid lengthy account audits and add more proactive risk management.

This is ridiculous. Why is there even a determination as to the "final" decision on your account? I thought that BOL informed you already that your account had been closed after a review of suspected chip dumping.

Absolutely disgusting, DISGUSTING behavior by BOL here.

Once? Abberation. Twice? Coincidence. Three times? PATTERN.

Shame on BOL for this third attempt at outright theft. If this is the type of behavior does not deserve a downgrade, then I don't know what does.

I would concur with Lou's advice though DMW that you sit tight and let them handle it, this is now the third complaint of this nature that I am aware of that they have received, and the first two guys got paid the full amounts owed. SBR has a good track record in that respect.
