    Book websites with no SSL...

I am new to this community, actually stumbled onto the site looking for reviews about Sportsbook.ag and found the 19+ page thread about the guy with a $26K parlay who couldn't get a payout b/c of a **********... an interesting read here. Anyway, I fell into Sportsbook.ag through their poker rooms. Obviously, the reviews I found here and elsewhere weren't so great and luckily, I don't have a large amount of money tied up with them. I read reviews by SBR about some of the other books, but several of the top-ranked books don't utilize SSL (https) on their site. Being new to the sports book arena, I wondered if that raises red flags for anyone else.

I looked specifically at 5Dimes. I registered for an account, etc but haven't funded it because the login form on the homepage and the **** processor are all transmitted in the clear (no ssl to encrypt the transaction). It's not a big deal if I am working from home, but using PC's and mobile devices on other networks could be a problem.

This is my first post, so please be gentle if this strikes you as a top contender for dumbest question of the year.

Most of the software used by US facing books is quite amateurish regarding security issues... for example, bookmaker, in their live chat they ask you to confirm your password, all over a non-SSL secured connection, wow.

Most of the larger shops, e.g. Pinny, Greek, Grande all have security measures in palce.

I found this thread after noticing the same about 5dimes...wow..I guess if I ever plan on using 5dimes I will go buy myself a gift card to use.

At home or not, you should never submit your CC info unencrypted. The data can still be intercepted.

No serious book should be asking for your password online. THey can ask for other things, secret question, etc to verify your identity but giving the keys of your account for anyone to place withdrawals/deposits or simply mess with your account. Its a no no.

Dont even mention SSL, puff, run Forest run.
