Congratulations Bodog. You've finally accomplished your goal of making poker completely unplayable. I've been there for 8 years and this is the nail in the coffin for me. I'm off to find another site.

This really isn't black Friday but I'd like to find another name for it. Maybe Incompetence Wednesday?

I'm going to guess that the players will be listed as Player1, Player2, etc and the bots will be Robot1, Robot2, etc.

When I think about it again, it may not be the end of the world if it sends most of the solid players away, and I think it will. Nobody will be able to use a HUD anymore or view a readable hand history. I haven't seen the bots on there in a while, so its possible they took care of them. However, I haven't played micro stakes, which is where they are most prevalent. But now its impossible to detect them. So if they ever come back good luck finding them. This is also opening a mean can of worms for collusion possibilities.

Here's an article from the Bodog Network VP which explains why the new software includes anonymous tables and explains some of the other changes/updates as well:

Bodog Poker Network Launches All-site Anonymous Tables

    Hope this helps,

Here is a response from CR regarding your concern:

We can certainly understand why not being able to identify players by their screen names anymore would make other players nervous. Maintaining the integrity of the game and protecting our players has always been our number one priority. Our security policies haven’t changed and we will continue to flag any suspicious account activity and take action on these players. We are committed in our effort to rid our poker room of collusion and protecting the interest of honest players. We continue to evolve our security practices and employ tools that will create the most secure environment for our players. We also have and continue to enforce a strict policy that forbids Bodog employees from playing our tables. We will not risk our reputation or integrity on having employees play. If you observe anything in our poker room that makes you a little suspicious, we’d like to know about it. You would need to provide the table name, the seat and hand numbers you’d like us to look at when calling.

    Thanks!
    Becky

The problem is that with the update you've just made that process infinitely more difficult. Human players can identify bots and collusion based on a large sample size, usually over multiple sessions. Because players are anonymous, it's impossible to do that now. It took an act of congress to get rid of bots when we did know the screen names, and even then players weren't 100% sure they were removed. How in the world can you possibly believe people will trust that they'll be removed now?

It's just a sad day. I know this update was done to protect amateur and recreational players from HUDS and bum hunting, but there is a better way to do it than removing the screen names of players on a table.

And the "explanation" that was given that the update makes the play on Bodog more like live poker because you won't know anyone at the table is a complete joke. Even in live poker if you go to the same casino or card room a few times you'll see familiar faces. Now if I get up and grab a drink or go to the bathroom, the whole table could change and I wouldn't even know it.

LOL, that is right. Just imagine all of the same people that whine about SBR poker being rigged, then multiply it by a 1000x (guessing approx. 20k player pool) and you can imagine how quickly the conspiracy theories escalate..

    LMAO...

Through all their adjustments to help the recreational player, Bodog has lost forgotten that adjusting to and playing to your opponents are legitimate facets of poker. They have every right to do what they want, but the uproar among the community tells me their traffic is going to suffer severely. To borrow a post from a 2+2 poster

it's honestly the worst update in online poker software history

    from the little things:

    no preferred seat
    timing out
    audio awful
    letter "m" censored

    to the middle things:

    ratholer's paradise
    rivalries gone
    can't see showdown hands
    points to e-cash gone

    to the big things:

    collusion
    bots
    complete anonymity
    no player notes

Bodog should lose their UK license for their latest Poker stunt

Completely anonymous poker room now so no way to track people and thus no way to catch them cheating their customers like Absolute Poker did. No way any remotely legitimate gaming board should allow that.

It's terrible. While I havent spent much time there, i noticed today 5Dimes traffic is up (they had over 5000 online earlier)

Bodog also failed to mention they reduced the payouts of the SNG--the $3 used to pay 15-9-6..now it pays 13.50-8.10-5.00 -- Im guessing the other SNGs and tourneys have been adjusted too. Terrible..just terrible

Its went from 10 players to 9 players, thats why the payouts are down.

However this is the worst update of all time. The only good thing Ive noticed is you can multi table up to 20 tables at once.

Pts to Ecash Tickets is terrible, anonymous players is terrible, and I think this is the final straw. Bodog continually cares more about itself as opposed to the customers wants.
Probably added In-Client blackjack because they hope degenerate gamblers who get on a hot streak will throw it all back into the casino immediately after.

    Poor job Bodog. Poor job.

That is a completely bullshit response. People are concerned because online sites have scammed people like this in the past. They were caught in part because people could track their stats and see that they were cheating. There is literally nothing to stop Bodog from doing this now because no one has a clue who is who. You can say you have a clean record but that doesn't stop you from scamming people going forward. As I said in my earlier post, Bodog should lose their UK gaming license over this unless they revert to a more transparent format.

Only on the MTT as cash games and sngs are still 4 table max... Can't fathom how playing 20 tables with this setup would be possible anyhow...

He means accounts. It's going to make collusion rampant and there will be nothing to stop it. Like I said, there is no way a company that does this should have a gaming license.

The only way Bodog would change their decision would be if it ran off everyone. The only reason they even have poker is to draw people on to bet on sports and in the casino. They don't care if their poker volume shrivels unless it means people take their sports and casino business elsewhere. And that's their right to do that. What it isn't their right to do is make a change that makes collusion and scamming ridiculously easy without any ability to oversee that on the player end. There is literally nothing to stop them from stealing/scamming players at poker. That is why their license should be revoked.
