Unlike other books you aren't getting anything special in an email from 5dimes(I think I remember a 5% reload once in all years they sending me emails)... Tony just likes to remind you that the WS is going on and things like on Sunday there is going to few football games and they plan to post numbers on them... Basically the kind of stuff, as gamblers, we been know to often forget about...

There are a few different criteria they use:

1. Most important are your results. If you win consistently, you will get your limits cut no matter how you won the money.
2. All books want straight regular spread action (sides NOT totals). They also love customers who bet 10 team parlays and things like that.
3. If the majority of your bets are on props, they will limit you much quicker if you win as opposed to winning on regular side betting.

I lost 46 straight horse racing wagers @ 5 Dimes and Tony still cut me off from betting on the horses in addition to my 80% reduction in betting limits. I can still wager at the casino though, LOL.

The only books that don't limit winning bettors are Pinnacle, Greek and Bookmaker. I'm not certain about Heritage.

also, why do they not like totals players? it's still a juiced side in theory.

If you're a higher limit bettor, 5 Dimes will cut your limits eventually regardless of how you bet if you win consistently. If you bet mainly props, your limits will be cut sooner than if you're making your money with regular straight betting.

Regarding totals, if the majority of your betting consists mainly of betting college BB totals and you win consistently, your limits will be cut the quickest as basketball totals are the most difficult to handicap and set an accurate line.

If you have been betting a while, I'm sure you have seen the wild swings that take place regarding basketball totals as they can move by 6-8 points off the original line. That just doesn't happen with regular spreads.

While totals are juiced the same as regular sides, the totals can be beaten far easier which is why the limits on totals are far lower than on spreads.

5 Dimes is a GREAT book especially for the lower limit gambler. If you're betting $50 or less per game, then 5 Dimes offers the most options with very little juice (especially with their reduced internet offerings)

However, if you bet higher limits and win consistently or even manage to stay around break-even, 5 Dimes will reduce your limits as they have made it crystal clear that they strongly discourage sharp action.

Greek will cut limits if you bet steam or bet too many props. I got an email a few years ago telling me I needed to bet more sides/totals if I didn't want my prop limits cut to $50. I think the requirement was 50% of my action had to be non-props.
