Sportsbook.com players with canceled futures, contact SBR immediately

    09.30.2011 (12:27 PM CST)

    Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) non-US players update.

SBR has spoken with one of the Sportsbook.com non-US managers, who also manages the YouWin (SBR rating D-) brand, concerning the news that players who were transferred over to Global.Sportsbook.com once the non-US brand moved to Malta would lose their futures wagers. The manager told Sportsbook Review that the decision was made to extend players a conditional offer to have their futures bets restored. Players with canceled futures are asked to contact SBR immediately, either through sportsbook complaint form or by writing directly to help@sportsbookreview.com.

On September 28th, SBR reported that Sportsbook.com redirected its entire non-US player base to register at new website, Global.Sportsbook.com. Sportsbook.com will continue to manage its US players from Costa Rica, while the non-US arm will be operated out of Malta. Sportsbook.com Non-US is licensed under Win United Ltd., the gaming company which powers YouWin Sportsbook. WinUnited Ltd is licensed to operate as a gaming company by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta.

In typical Sportsbook.com fashion, the controversial gaming company announced to non-US players via email that their pending wagers would not be honored. The decision sparked outrage amongst players, as did the announcement that cash bonuses would also be forfeited if a withdrawal was requested within 60 days of the player's new account being created.

During its long email to players, Sportsbook.com also claimed that it would round up currency conversion so that accounts in dollars would receive more than what the exchange rate dictates. However, on September 30th a player filed a sportsbook complaint through SBR indicating that he believes to be shorted $1,700 after having the transfer made to his new account. The player held a balance of $10,700 at Sportsbook.com. SBR is following up on this player's claim with management, and asks players with similar complaints to contact SBR. SBR will update this report.

Grade all the playoff futures of teams who didn't make the playoffs as losers, then cancel all the live ones. The day this was announced is obviously just a coincidence.

These crooks pulled the same heist in 1996 when they pulled out of USA after Peter Dicks was arrested.

Sportsbook has completely different owners now, and have had so since shortly after Peter Dicks was arrested in 2006, which resulted in Sportsbook and the rest of the US stuff being sold.

Yeah they pulled that crap on me in 2006, said they were no longer servicing my jurisdiction and told me to go to a different book in their family but didn't transfer my futures. Same "coincidental" timing, right during the baseball league championship series.

My buddie said when you sign into new sportsbook.ag they state:

players will be able to decide to keep future bets or have them canceled. (this seems like a much more fair option)

Yeah now they're spinning it like they're doing you a favor by letting you decide if you keep your futures. They try to screw you, face a bunch of outrage, then spin it like they're helping you.

Sportsbook.com player submits pending wagers dispute

A Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) player who had four pending wagers canceled when the non-US operations moved to Malta writes in. The player tells SBR that he had four pending parlays worth a total of $400 which were voided. On 9/30, SBR reported that players who had wagers were asked to write into Sportsbook Review so that assistance could be provided. The YouWin Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) manager tasked with overseeing the Global.Sportsbook.com operations in Malta informed SBR that players could request to have their futures bets reinstated.

Global.Sportsbook.com player: I had 4 pending wagers each for $100 that have been voided. All 4 wagers were parlays, three 2 legs and one 3 legs parlay. All 4 parlays had only one more leg pending. In that case, I think right thing to do is to void last leg and pay me bets I won. You just gave me back my $400 without honoring my winning plays.

    Sportsbook.com player confirms payment

A Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) player confirms receiving payment. The player filed a sportsbook complaint through SBR on October 8th indicating that he had been unable to withdraw a balance of $2,500 for four months. The player explained that he had tried through a number of Sportsbook.com (ag) methods, only to stall on each attempt. After SBR contacted management, it was stated that the players funds had in fact been re-sent.

On September 28th, SBR reported that Sportsbook.com moved non-US players to Global.Sportsbook.com - an operation headquartered in Malta and acting as a sublicense to WinUnited Ltd, which powers online bookmaker Youwin Sportsbook (SBR rating D-). Sportsbook.com caused controversy at the time of announcement as its lengthy email to players stated that futures bets would not be honored, a decision which was later adjusted after SBR connected with a Non-US Sportsbook manager. You can read more about the canceled wagers situation in this Sportsbook Review report.
