    So far in 2011...

    Matchbook: Left US Market
    Bet Jamaica: Closed
    The Greek: Left US Market
    VIP/Nine/Gameday: Closed
    Bet Phoenix: Major Payout Issues
Rebate Wager: Downsized, Stopped Accepting New Customers, Scrapped Exchange
Bet Ed: Closed, Domain Seized, Players Stiffed
    Bookmaker/DSI: Domain Seized, Still Open
    Bet Horizon: Closed
    Sports Interaction: Left US Market
Bodog: Rebranding at the end of the year

Can it get any worse than this? What's next?

It can get worse if 5dimes left and Bet Islands doesn't exceed their expectations.

    Solution = move to Canada!

All jokes aside it's been a real tough year for online gambling.

matter of time before it's nearly 100% over. don't consider your funds safe anywhere. Anyone who tells you otherwise is simply lying. How can you feel safe these days having funds at these places? Prior to wagering on any particular sporting event you are simply betting they don't close shop and screw you out of your money. Scary time for US players.

Sportsbook.com did not leave the US market, they stopped taking new sign-ups from the US. Important difference.

    Yes, you are right.

    Good catch.

Actually all 3 still have old customers but no new ones.

WHY is this happening? In other words; where's the logic behind all the Sportbook chaos?
Whom or who is to blame?

Well, it's obvious the DoJ is to blame for some of the books, but it seems like the whole industry is in panic mode. With the NFL season upon us and so many gamblers looking for a new book, I would think that now would be the time an aggressive marketing push would bring in a lot of customers.

I was under the impression that their customers were moved to Heritage like Bet Jamiaca customers were.

I didn't even know about those three, although I doubt any of them will be missed except maybe sportsbook.com

Here is a link to a very good article on exactly how the US govt infiltrated the payment processors of BetED, DSI, BM, etc. which inturn gave them probable cause to seize their domains...and bank accts in some instances.

    http://cybersecurityreport.nextgov.c...ling_sites.php

It tells just how easy it is/was for them to do. No one in the US will be able to place a wager offshore by the end of this year. Guaranteed. The Feds spent about 2 years building this particular case. So its not a question of "if" but rather "when" the books still standing will have action taken against them as cases are already being built. Find a local ya'll

Its funny that SBR still blocks out payment options that are defunct and no longer exist.
