Many complain about not getting the change from a winning bet at certain site or that they have to pay 15$ to make a deposit offshore or $50 for a person to person withdrawal and they will be spending $300 in airfare? If you can more power to you not viable for 95% though.

I don't even like bodog, but this is becoming a joke.

Greek and Bodog were actually my only 2 outs left for soccer. Now I'm stuck with 5dimes and SIA... Sorta. I can only bet $33 at SIA, no re-bets.

Governments only hurting their own citizens with crap like this.

Talked to a couple Bodog reps, and they told me that only a change in the brand name is taking place. US Players are fine.

Last sentence in the story on Calvin Ayre said "other than a name change, it should be business as usual for US Punters"

I think Bodog Becky needs to confirm all of this though.

I am thinking and hoping that this will just be a witch-hunt period that we go through -- a readjustment -- and eventually the heat will cool down and the ones left standing and maybe some new ones that step into the breach will go back to doing business as usual and those fatheads causing all the trouble can go back to doing whatever they were doing before.

With this rate I wouldn't be surprised if all A books available to US posters leave before the end of August.

Bodog is a book that feeds on squares and offers bad lines, but it was always easy to get money into and out of. It'll definitely be missed

guys, unless i am not reading this properly, you'll still be able to bet with your bodog account but it'll just be on another license. It's all up to the licensing company on whether or not they will be legit. It's not like this book is completely abandoning the U.S.

WAKE UP PEOPLE! Re-read the article. This is a change in brand name only, Bodog is not leaving the US customer base out in the cold, as people on this thread seem to think. Where are the moderators on this? Can you assess infractions for stupidity? I guess not, or there would be a lot of violations issued in connection with this thread.

    5D will be next.

Anyone else see the irony here? Our beloved non-American born President was on primetime last night telling us how inept the federal government is with managing their (our) money yet they are weeding out all the offshore books in an attempt to manage ours!!!! That's like getting a fellow alcoholic to go to the beer store for you!!! Our US Gov. is totally inept and our founding fathers would be disgusted.

Ownership is the key, if bodog ownership remains it will remain safe if ownersip changes it is no different then any start up who just got sold your account.

All they're doing is changin the name so that when (not if) the new book gets shut down, it won't tarnish the Bodog brand name and tie it up in court. New book opens, gets knocked down by the US Government, then skips town with everyones $ w/o Bodog getting the bad rep!!!!

But Corbin says it's all ok...business as usual. SO POST UP!!!!!

Yeah, it was always a licensing deal where Mohawk just paid for the right to use Bodog's name after Bodog first pulled out of the US back in '06 so in theory nothing should be different unless Mohawk now makes changes to the book that they might not have been able to make under the Bodog deal. I guess the main difference would be that for those people who played there because they trusted the Bodog Brand or Calvin himself, they might now feel uncomfortable playing at the book under a different name.

For all we know the UK gaming commission told Bodog they couldn't renew the deal when it expired if they wanted the UK licence because it didn't want to risk making the commission itself look bad for giving Bodog the first one under the new laws if all of a sudden Bodog was splashed in the news because of some problem with the US government. Even though Mohawk was running the book, it still would've been Bodog and Calvin in every story. And if they weren't told to do it and decided to not renew on their own, it's actually the smart thing to do if they've determined that whatever they were making from selling their name will be recouped thanks to the new UK licence. No point messing around with the US if you can get the same money elsewhere with no hassle.
