Why is slow-paying acceptable with gamblers?

What other business operates like this?

Would you go to the store and pay for 3 pair of jeans and only get one and then call every two weeks to find out if they will give you the rest?

Will you go to a restaurant, order food and have them bring you each course every 3 hrs?

Will you pay a shipping company to ship 3 packages for you and only ship one every 2 weeks?

Then why do people play at books that slow-pay?

agree!! If we would all put our foot down we could get prices lowered on transfers and faster withdrawals. To many pussies and degens around though to do that

I agree... but tons of other businesses work like this. Not at the retail level but one step above, constant invoicing and slow paying, negotiating, and even stiffing. Just ask anyone in accounts payable/receivable, it's the norm.

But with the Sportsbook you have to send them money first. With invoicing you either render them services or send them merchandise first. What other business actually receives cash from a customer and then fails to pay the customer back in a timely manner?

well, they can get away with slow paying and stiffing people because they have the upper hand, gambling is an addiction and they know that no matter how much they abuse you you'll keep giving them your money

and the fact that it is illegal in the US means that there are only a handful of books which gives them even more power, and they arent regulated which gives them more power because no legal action can be taken against them

you also have to remember than some of them dont slow pay because they want to mess with you, but because they are facing financial difficulties, mostly because of the US gambling legislation and government action

its like with any business, if a business is going under and having financial difficulties, you can tell because their operating activities suffer

Love living in AZ and family in NV lol. A non-issue. I do use a book though to make impromptu plays and tail a few people-never had a problem with being paid yet except once, and that was because of their payment processor, not the book itself. If you are being slow payed I would suggest moving books as there may be more to the story and slow pay is a symptom. Now back to the show.

Yeah in Europe this things goes very smoothly. When you have problems to receive payout more than 2 weeks, something is fishy there.

Choices are very limited for Americans. There are some Books that can pay small amounts quickly, but almost none can get a larger payment out in a timely manner. Just the nature of the beast I guess.

probably ok if it's just a hobby but for many it is a lot more than that and it is just not acceptable

however, the real villain here in most examples is Uncle Sam, not the bookie .. not that that is any real comfort if you are American

I think we Americans have to realize that online sports betting will NEVER be legalized except for in Vegas.. regardless if online poker is "legalized" or not the NFL will never allow legalized sports betting to be passed and YES the NFL does have that much power

people play with slow paying books because most of them are easy to beat and have slow moving lines. Then they get upset why the slow moving lines book is slow paying.
