Bodog or RPM. Your not going to find the game selection that you would at Pokerstars/FTP but you can play poker nonetheless. RPM has way more features as far as multi-tabling is concerned. In fact, Bodog totally lacks any features for multi-tabling if that's your thing.

I'm fully aware of Black Friday, but I could still kill time playing Rush Poker with play chips after that crap went down.

So I'm simply asking, what did I miss in the last month with FTP? Why is their software down?

    Try Cake Poker...

    Quick Overview

Cake Poker launched in 2006 and quickly established itself as a top-notch alternative to some of the big-name poker rooms. As the flagship room of the Cake Poker network, Cake Poker is also one of the few online poker rooms open to U.S. players, making it a very appealing option for players locked out by the UIGEA.

LOL... Pokerroom.com was the first site I played on... At the time they didn't only offered limit games (no NL games) I think it went up to something like 2/4 blinds and all the games were java based...

Try Sbr poker, oh wait, it's down for "retooling" for a month. And the nice part is, any points "winnings" on tourneys you have to continuously roll over in the ring games, making them even more worthless.

do not play with Cake Poker if you are in the USA , they have not paid in over 2 months , and still have no way to pay.

I've installed it and have been watching traffic. I may make a deposit once I receive my next Cashout. Are you currently playing BetOnline? How is the competition?

I currently play on multiple sites to help with Game Selection since none have a large player pool currently for US residents.. I've not seen Everleaf Network mentioned. I play at Minted Poker and they have super fast Cashouts(received multiple Cashouts in under 3 days) and good bonus/RB(40%)/promos. There is a lot of soft competition also since most of the site is made up of Italians and other Euro players.

I also play on a few other sites but I think they have mainly been covered ITT.

Carbon is alright, i've been playing there a little bit since black friday. The number of players and tournaments is great i think, not much compared to FT or stars but it works for me. Lots of good sit n go's, low limit tournaments, and almost ALL fish at the low limit tables. Easy to place ITM tournaments as well. Depositing is alright, couldn't tell ya much about the cashout process as i haven't done it yet for fear of having my check lost or tied up in a 3 month hold up or some horse shit.

I stopped playing there after the first couple weeks because all the same problems you were having. I decided to try it again a couple days ago and was pleasantly surprised. I have had only had 2 crashes in two days, much better than before. I still hate that damned "Sit out next hand" button, but even that is not as bad as before. I've played 10 or 11 FR the last 2 days and the crazy amount of bad beats seems to lessened a bit as well, but I guess that's a little subjective. The play is still as soft as before, out of those 10-11 FR I've won 2 and placed in another, should have placed in another but made a stupid call just out of the money.

I'd say try betonline, seems much more stable than before and they have FR starting every hour with Prize money ranging from $10 turbos to $200. Average fields are 500-1000 people with at least half the field gone after 30 minutes. Like any FR, early on is just a shovefest, but in general the play is pretty soft. I haven't deposited any money there but have started to build a little roll from just the FR and they have some cheap buy-in tourneys and such to build the bankroll a little faster. You're a solid player and should be able to cash fairly often.

Yeah trying to build a bankroll there but I keep buying the addons in the freerolls which really cuts into any winnings, but with the addon being 5,000 chips I always feel at a disadvantage if I don't buy it. Still have lots of issues with the software, but once you learn its quirks and limitations it is easier to play on.

As for the sitout button when using the "retro" table skin. When sitting back in just click the gray bar only. I find if you just ignore the red "sit out next hand" button that is constantly checked and just refrain from clicking it helps avoid the auto fold of your hand that can occur when trying to sit back in. But if it does happen I immediately close the table and reopen it but of course that requires the tourney lobby to be open which can be an issue itself.

Also if any disconnect occurs it won't allow you to see your cards once it rejoins the table. When this happens I just close the client and restart it.

    LOL

I think that may be part of it, it is kinda quirky at times and have learned to work around it.
I always use the retro skin too, can't stand that other one. If I register for a tourney and leave the tourney lobby open it doesn't update once the tourney starts. After I register now, I close the tourney lobby and open after the game has already started and seems to work fine. At least the crashes and freezes have been minimal for me lately. In the FR, I never do the re-buys or add-ons never thought it was worth it, but I was tempted a time or two.

There are still plenty of options, IMO. Sure, the fields may not be as large but there are definitely places to play.

Not sure I would play a ton on Merge right now anyway with the current Payout Issues they are having. I do play on RPM, but I don't play a ton of volume ATM. There is also a rumor that they may start accepting US sign ups again in about 2 weeks. The Cashouts do seem to be speeding up some, but there are still huge delays.

Minted Poker with fast Cashouts(2 days), good support, good RB/Promos, and soft competition is good. I also like True Poker. They have fairly soft competition, decent Cashouts(less than 2), decent support, and good RB deals available.
