    Fair or Foul: Episode II

Looking for some opinions on the following:

Let's say an MLB game begins at 7:05 EST. Now, let's say that around 2pm EST one team changes the probable pitcher. Within 10-15 minutes basically every book online has adjusted the listed pitchers accordingly.

Now, let's consider the following prop bet:

"Will there be a run scored in the 1st inning?" For the sake of this example, let's say the odds are: Yes -120 and No -110.

Now at 6pm EST, a bettor wagers $600 to win $500 on YES -120. The sportsbook grades the play after the 1st inning has been completed as "No Action" citing the pitching change.

So, should a bettor have a reasonable expectation that the sportsbook should be able to adjust their props given that they had 4 hrs to do so?

    Thank you,

    BAUS

Foul, the sportbook had plenty of time to adjust the line.

Do you know if they changed the odds on other props on the same game?

Will there be a run scored in the first inning Both listed starting pitchers must go for action. Game must go 1 inning for action. Max wager is $300. No Re-Bets unless $$$ is change.

The book I like has this listed. 30 cent line on this wager at The Greek for this. You think with this margin of safety that the book would rush to put up the adjusted wager.

    Fair....missed opportunity from book

But I DO know that they changed the listed pitchers for the money line, run line, totals around 2pm EST.

Does the bet have condition like names of pitchers have to play? If not, the bet should stand. It looks like they did a free-roll as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong (UK) but if they change the listed pitchers for the main lines, shouldn't the new pitchers then become the listed pitchers? Thus any prop bets that specify listed pitchers must start should stand, especially if placed 4 hours after the book has changed the pitcher? Definite foul in my opinion.
Wouldn't be surprised if it was thegreek, they do funny things with prop lines! seen a few non-obvious errors cancelled

Foul, for several reasons. But grading as non action after knowing the result should be the most obvious one, that could never be fair.

obviously book is wrong here and wager should be honored.

its amazing to me how many books do not list the actual pitchers names in the prop bets (5dimes does, greek doesnt). just seems like such a simple way to avoid these problems

Yes exactly. If they just list the pitchers there is no problem.

If they had already changed the listed pitcher on the ML earlier in the day then it's fair to assume they they had also updated all the other lines to reflect the change. Wager should stand.

Foul. Listing the pitchers' names with the prop bets will solve the problem. Otherwise, Books can use this to take shots at unsuspecting bettors.

The book in question is citing a rule that states basically that the pitchers who are listed for the "1st inning shootout prop" (most strikeouts) are also the listed pitchers for the "Will there be a run scored in the 1st inning prop".

I really don't know what to make of this. I made this bet under the assumption that if the pitchers listed next to the moneyline are correct, and have been for a few hours, then the props should be too.

Sad that a book would treat an SBR founder this way.

No, not them. I may file a complaint with SBR over the grading of this prop.

I've begun to see more and crap go on with props and good books lately.
I have this wierd nagging feeling there may be some 'dual line' category behavior as well.
