    SBRtv and well-informed members...

What effect do you believe poker legislation will have on online sports betting in the U.S.? The Barton bill is poker-only and the Frank-Campbell bill will be ammended down to poker only. Do you expect the uigea to be strengthened and or clarified in one of these bills? I certainly do. If Bachus is going to let poker pass, he certainly is going to seek to bury the sportsbooks and casinos.

Can you guys get an interview with I. Nelson Rose and ask him these questions? Does he think strengthening of uigea will be the end of US serving online sportsbooks? Can they make it illegal for the bettors themeselves to make wagers?

Oh and please don't respond with the obviously uninformed statement "the sportsbooks will always be here. I've been around forever and they always find a way.....?!?,.!,!."

    Thank You!

    illfuuptn,

Thanks for your question and video idea. We will try to get Nelson Rose or another expert to address and expand on this topic, and we will let the person know beforehand that responding that online sportsbooks will always find a way to be here is an unacceptable answer.

Please also ask him to steer clear of, "Well, it's really hard to say." Yes. It is. But we don't need an expert to tell us that.

Any progress? Maybe you should start an "ask your question" thread to get some good ideas for a general show outline.

Great video idea! I do however think what will likely occur is IF some online poker sites start propping up they will be so heavily regulated at first and the government will want to see solid financial results before even the remote possibility of sports gambling would open up.

I personally think it's great hearing from the individual sportsbooks and appreciate the interviews SBRtv

online sports betting will never be legalized anywhere in the US except for Vegas, the NFL will never allow it, and yes the NFL does have the power to do that

    ok let me rephrase then

regardless if online poker is "legalized" or not the major league sports will never allow legalized sports betting to be passed

The slight momentum that an online poker bill had was gone with the budget cap ceiling debate. After this is cleared, the congressional breaks will continue/start.

    Another year in limbo

Still off. I'm not asking IF it will be legalized. I'm asking what effect the poker bill, which has "gambling prohibition" and "uigea strengthening" in the title, will have on online gambling in the US.
