There's no reason to dump on the OP.

He said he's sweating it, and 30k is a lot of money and he's stated "This is my largest payout ever, and it is coming from a sports book I’ve only dealt with a couple of months."

This is really a side effect of things like Easystreet's stiffing and the recent 5 dimes situations, along with the US's seizures of money from payment processors.

These days 5 Dimes goes offline for a few hours, and many people begin wondering if they'll see their money again.
Due to all the negative incidents recently, people are expecting the worst these days.

And 37 days is much too long to not have resolved the issue.

Let's remember that Full Tilt Poker, a mega million dollar operation, and one which was not gambling vs. players but simply raking money nonstop, seems to be unable to pay back its depositors currently.

If anyone had suggested this the day before Black Friday, people would have jumped on the poster just as people are doing here.

I don't believe there's a problem with the Greek based on his post, partly because I had a situation with them that took much too long to be resolved also (which I posted earlier in this thread).

But let's not dump on people for sharing info.

The OP has a right to be concerned, since he has not had a long experience with this book. The Greek is solid, and they will fix it, and you will get your funds. I would let SBR assist on your behalf; it can only speed up the process.

Very harsh to criticise the OP for using the word "warning." I think it's a fair warning that this method of withdrawal is vulnerable to human error; other posts in this thread confirm it. He actually went out of his way to point out that he is not criticising the book itself at this stage.

Are you really comparing the greek to FTP?

The Greek is one of the best run sportsbooks offshore, if not the best. They have CS 24/7.... They've never had any problem paying anyone... Theres nothing shady at all about them.

FTP was a disaster waiting to happen. Absolutely horrid CS (3-4 days on average for a reply via email.. no phone #)...They let people play with deposits that never got cleared, and in some cases, still havent gotten cleared since November. They were one of the worst run businesses I've ever seen. While no one could have guessed how bad there financials actually were, it shouldn't have been surprising to ANYONE.

Wanna compare the Greek to someone? Compare them to Poker Stars.... Both run businesses the way you are supposed to run one.

Good news! Today, 6/20/11 @ 3:30PM PST - I received a call that the funds have been fully recalled and are credited back to my account. yay! I will proceed and request my withdrawal in a different method. I'm done with bank wires and the swift bullsh*t.

This was obviously human error by someone from thegreek.com staff or their bank processor. Either way, it is unacceptable but this type of thing will happen I guess. This time unfortunately was me.

That said, the staff was very professional, helpful and understanding of my situation.

The only complain I have is the butt-ugly website. It is practical, it works, and I guess they are going for a very minimalistic/practical approach, but there is no denying that the user interface is f-ing ugly. But again, that is not a big deal.

I'm just sorry I wasn't using thegreek before, instead of the mistake of committing many funds to BetEd.

Just to be clear, Lou's involvement, although very appreciated, had nothing to do with the recent progress from TheGreek.
TheGreek was working the case and their Risk management staff was in fact on top of it.

I don't want to give the impression my case was a happy ending just because it was getting other people's attention.
TheGreek's staff was communicating with me the whole time.

Not necessarily an error on the Greek's end.

I once sent a wire that was entered correctly (I have the receipt from the outgoing bank), which was then lost, retraced, and returned to me.

It happens even without the sender making an error. The good thing is you get the money back in a few weeks.

Money was received.
Lost some being stupid with some MLB games, but got most of it with me now.
I had no doubt they would come thru after it was credited in my account.
My main concern was having my money lost in limbo.
