Some companies are run the right way (Poker Stars and Bookmaker), while the truth is coming out about others who didn't manage there money right (BetEd, AP, Full Tilt).... At this point the government is doing us a favor by weeding out the books who werent financially secure. I can guarentee Bet Jamaica/The Greek are run the right way....

What would it matter is it was 95%, 25%, or even just 1% confiscated? If they decide they are closing shop for good theres no point in trying to save face by paying out a few players at the end. Its not like "yeah they closed down but they paid" means anything. The operators can just go somewhere else, open something new and get a fresh start. With our old betEd deposit money in their pockets.

Those crooks need to be found and be prevented from opening up businesses that are scams. We need names on newspapers of these thieves. These sports books have to start displaying legit names of owners of their books, so they seem some what trustworthy. That shows don't trust anyone.

This is actually true to a large extent.... From what I can see on cached sites looks like BetEd's affiliate deal was 30%... Pretty safe bet that Covers negotiated a higher percentage...

They wouldn't have had that much, but the idea sounds right.

obviously they had enough seized that it would benefit them to bail instead of continue business.

Obviously. We all knew from forum disputes that they were unrepentant lying shitbag thieves. This is what unrepentant lying shitbag thieves do, steal whenever they think it's expedient. If there's one lesson to be learned from these forums, above all others, it's that crooks and liars will keep being crooks and liars.

Another question if any knows the answer to this. What is the name of the BetEd model? Because it seems to be a mystery how they're hiding her name and that also makes BetEd fishy. Thanks, BOL all!

P.S. that was hilarious how Lou ended the dang 'ole thread with the dang 'ole sbr forum policy. LOL Good one to Lou and empty cookie jar for setting up that joke.
Long ago I was a longtime loyal Covers member. Yet I often posted facts when I saw them highly recommend a sportsbook, that proved how they were sportsbooks to avoid. The facts were concrete and indisputable. Though even if it was just my opinion, isn't that what a forum is all about? Anyway, one day Lou pulled the plug on me for bashing some of his sponsors. Didn't matter that I was sharing facts with the forum. Posting anti sentiment against their sponsors is the sole reason I got banned. It's a concrete fact the Covers.com top rated sportsbooks is who pays them the most and sponsors them. Covers.com top rated sportsbooks are by no means the top rated sportsbooks of all the sportsbooks out there. When you only recommend who sponsors you, then your recommendations are severely tainted via a crystal clear conflict of interest. Covers spins the perception of the their toprated sportsbooks, like B*dog Becky spins the perception of Calvin Ayre.

    Beted = debet

    http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/debet

    Etymology

From the Latin verb form debet (meaning "[he/it] owes"), of the Latin verb debere (meaning "[to] owe").

That's right. You heard it here first.

We at Covers.com don't take kindly to having our clients money stolen from them. Hell, it makes us look bad. We recommended those guys to you.

We will do everything in our power to get your money back and in your hands. We are going to ask, beg, talk, whine, shout, whisper, or write to whoever it takes to get that money released to the players.

    That is a promise.
Several people over at OSB pulled their money out after football and we made the tough decision to remove Beted as an advertiser. Unfortunately the situation there had not been optimal for some time.
Beted had 10% of their assets frozen, not seized. The other 90% is in their pockets waiting to be returned to players. Make sure the guys at C*vers follow through with the return of funds.

I think this is bad news regardless if Beted was a B or C book, hopefully other books learn from this.

As for ALL the funds being gone, seems shady, as a business on the fringe of legality, how do you keeps said funds in one account? You just don't! I think more will come out of this and perhaps the truth to where the funds are.

I love how everybody expects that a business will continue with no problems after having their owners indicted and most of their funds seized.

Most amazing is that still a bunch of "smart" posters assumed that every "A" book has 100 banks aligned, it has money buried on their backyard and that they must have a plan B, C, D and E ready for all these situations. Please guys, some common sense, any book, be an "A" or "B" or whatever letter, if suddenly you lose a 80% of your revenue, how do you expect to operate?

Too many Mission Impossible movies for a lot of people here. A bit more of news and probably some Home Improvement Channel can cure that.

Also this dream that a book is an "A" or "B", whatever, SBR charges for it, Covers does it too. Dont blame them they are all business and on this industry anyone can fall.

Too bad for the players, but reality is, they may never see their money again.

agree aint one book out there where a dollar truely equals a dollar. you are at some percentage risk at every single place you play at. some more risky then other, but nothing 100% safe at any operation.

if they had 10% of their assets frozen, wed have a beted.ag by now. obviously its more serious then that or they wouldnt have bailed. i know its not 100% like they claim but im sure it was enough to make it worth it to them to close shop.

The government did cut deals with most of the poker sites to have funds returned to players. Of course, the shady poker sites didn't have the money to return. I'm sure BetED won't be able to either.
