Pointing people to a thread where I suggest investing in bitcoin and me being an advocate of bitcoin does not constitute a scam. A scam inherently involves fraud. There is no fraud going on here.

One theoretical question to all of you that like the bitcoin sportsbooks. How will a sportsbook survive with no player information - only user id and pass, no documentation asked at all etc. Imagine all the fraud, abuse, duplicate accounts, that will be going on every signle day. Even money laundering through it, all sorts of criminal activity, even stolen bitcoins with accounts. Who in their right mind would think this business can exist for long?
The real winner is the guy who starts the bitcoin payment processor for USD deposits.
A book can associate a player with a bitcoin deposit/withdrawal address. Before you withdraw you would have to submit papers just like with cash.
At btcsportsbetting.com my information is associated with one bitcoin address on file for deposits and withdrawals. You are thinking books will do what silk road does and that is not the case.
The book knows who you are...but the feds do not

Pretty sure this btcsportsbetting is a scam. Nothing credited after hours, missed the 1pm MLB games. No responses to emails. Just what we need. Sticking with the only legit bitcoin bookie, btcsportsbet.com it seems. So much for line shopping.

The details are incredibly complicated, and I do not claim to know everything about how it works, but I'll break it down to the simplest level I can.
Bitcoins are a new e-currency. They are created by performing work ("Mining") for the bitcoin operation. The amount of work you have to perform to get one is called the "difficulty level" and that is adjusted to control the flow of new bitcoins into the marketplace.
The most efficient piece of hardware you can use for bitcoin mining is a GPU (video card). So, if you put your video card to work, you are rewarded with bitcoins. At the current difficulty level, a normal video card could take long long time to mine a Bitcoin Block (weeks, months). Pools are formed so that people can share this work, and divide the bounty.
Bitcoin blocks usually contain 50 Bitcoins (BTC), and at the level I'm at right now, I'm knocking out about a 1BTC a day.

A couple of months back you will see that I was attempting to get some information on the merits of the sportsbook but Boondaggle refused to provide any information preferring instead to keep prattling on about bitcoins and then blocked my posts

No, of course not. I think all parties agree that it's a vanilla book with limited offerings. All agree no one would have the slightest interest in if it weren't for the possibility that Americans can deposit and withdrawal without all the hassle.
I don't know who you think you're arguing with Hareeba. This is a thread for desperate Americans. I know you like to come in and ha-ha them so have at it, but don't pretend that anyone thinks the sportsbook has any stand-alone value and you're just trying to point that out.

it was boondaggle I was "arguing" with if you can call it that ... but he was so intent on discussing bitcoins that he flatly refused to address my questions about the sportsbook, saying I was off topic in a thread titled "BitCoin Sportsbook"
That assessment seems fair at this point. It's a long ways away from being anything near the level of the big books. If you are not mining bitcoins, then I don't see any reason to play here. I'm planning on placing my first wagers this NFL weekend. I'll keep you guys posted on how it goes.

So far so good at btcsportsbet. I've only bet small amounts so far, but everything has been smooth. I was hoping I could fire off some bets to take advantage of inefficient lines, but from what I can tell he has the book tied to the Pinny lines. You don't really have a chance to jump on a bet before his site moves the lines to mirror Pinny.
I just cashed out for the first time. It showed up in my wallet almost instantly.
He's shadowing the lines, but not the juice. Worth it though just to play with a currency thats gone from 0 to $30 back to near zero up to $12 back to about $2.

Personally, I don't see any catalyst out there that is going to stop bitcoin from bleeding to death. If you look at the BTC Chart from a technical standpoint, the stock is sick and probably going to slowly slide into oblivion. That being said, my miners are still chugging away

I'll make a small deposit this weekend and let you guys know how it goes. It looks interesting so far, at least for small time bettors.
Ive been playing there a month. Heres the skinny so far:
- Paid me three times
- Liquidity is strong for ncaa hoops, nfl and ncaa football--- Not so strong for hockey and the financials yet
- They have to manually approve bitcoin(and convert to dollars themselves) , because of the fluctuations in price..Its an exchange, so you have to have the funds in order for them to pay the other side of your wagers. A friend of mine deposited bitcoins and it worked fine. I chose to use LR , as its stable and been around ten years as a currency.
- You can get them on the phone , and the guy actually knows what he's talking about.
I'm hoping they keep growing. So far so good.
