    sportsbook.com problem

so i joined sportsbook.com before i heard all the bad things about them.

I no longer bet there but i have a balance of $250 which i requested a payout for 6 weeks ago

so the money hasn't arrived so i decided to log on to my account to try to contact them and i saw that the $250 was back as my balance.

so i chat with a rep asking why and they say they can't process the payout until i fax them my drivers license and utility bill. WTF? this wasn't in the original agreement. I don't have a utility bill with my name on it...they say my bank statement will be fine. I don't want to give these dodgy oysters my bank statement.

are they just making excuses not to pay me?

    what should i do?

send it in and black out anything you don't want them to know. sending in id and bank statements is pretty standard these days, not just with sportsbook.

    what's the reason for it?

to make it harder for members to get payouts?

First off, Welcome to the SBR forum

Don't be all that alarmed really because most books nowadays have implemented this type of policy before withdrawing. It's for verification purposes sir.

Stan James asked me for ID BEFORE they asked me for a deposit, which I think is correct in that there are no misunderstandings later.

I never sent it in, but not their fault.

The vast majority never withdraw. Why incur excess costs?

asking for a utility bill is just a way to try to get out of paying

if this is how all the online books operate then it's a fraud

i know one thng tho...i wont be putting another nickel into any of them

    yeah i'm very naive

how many of you are waiting around for months and months trying to get paid from these frauds that call themselves sports books?

as far as i'm concerned the $250 i have at sportsbook.com is monopoly money. I'll never see it.

i'm glad i found out about this before i put anymore money into this racket.

You have a whole Bulletin Board community telling you, honestly, that this is the way the system works. If it is worth $250 to you not to provide your documentation, so be it. Sooner or later, they may lapse the money.

If you reconsider and send them some documents with key information blacked out, maybe you should ask for a debit card. Not sure whether they will even set up a *** account for $250.

    Good luck.

Like others have said, it's S.O.P. If you have a scanner, you can even e-mail them the info. I had no problems sending my info. and having it verified as received.

This is the least of their issues, trust me.

Horrible advice. What happens if the sb.com sides win and his balance winds up growing? This is universally accepted as a bad idea.
