    Wauw Gaming Closed

Here is what they wrote on their home page

    contact: support@wauwgaming.com

    Wauw Gaming Closed

    Dear Wauw user,

For a while we’ve known that we’d need more invested capital into our company in order to reach Break Even on our current activities. Unfortunately we haven’t succeeded in raising the necessary investor capital, and thus we’ve decided to close down our business.

The total amount due to our customers, meaning also your balance/funds if relevant, are to a large extend secured via the demand by the Maltese Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) for separation of company funds and customer/user funds. Some of these funds are kept as reserves at 3rd parties for up to 9 months though and thus we’re not able to pay everybody’s full balance straight away.

We’ll cooperate fully with the LGA in order to try and find a solution securing that everybody will have their funds paid as soon as possible. We’ll give further information on the homepage and by email when relevant.

We’re very sorry for the inconveniences brought on you by this, but hope you’ll understand that we’re doing everything possible in order to try and satisfy all involved parties in this difficult situation.

    Kind regards,
    Wauw Gaming

Hmm looks like i will have problem to cashout my balance
And they lie 1 week that they have problem with their server...
    What do you think guys?

Looks like this book didn't last a little more than a year. I believe they opened it's doors back in July, 2007.

Sorry to hear that, hope you don't have too much money tied up there.

    What happened with betchance?
Did the LGA offer some sort of solution or did everybody lose their funds?

There last offer was 25% (which is an insult IMO).

BetChance (SBR rating F) sends a "client contract" to owed players saying they will provide payment within 20 months and asks the player to agree he/she will not sue the gaming company. Players should ask the sportsbook if it intends to steal account balances if this agreement is not signed under duress. The agreement gives the sportsbook reassurance that the player does not intend to pursue the sportsbook and meaninglessly suggests that by signing it, the player has waived the right to pursue funds. BetChance previously offered 30% (now 25%) or payment in full within 15 months. in 2007 players agreed to payment plans which were not honored. SBR will contact Malta Gaming authorities to ask if the latest BetChance payment promise is the result of influence of the regulating body. Malta and its Lotteries and Gaming Authority have not proven to offer added player security to date. Defunct sportsbook Portlandbet (SBR rating F) is also confiscating a piece of player balances. | see BetChance agreement

They offered Liverpool 0:0 at 20-24-~18 which was pretty much gamble style from their side. (One example from many, within last month)

The server fault was just a cover story I guess.

I feel like booking a ticket to Malta and visit someone from wauwbet right now.

I vote YES- and i will bet with my 264EUR in WAUWBet site...not much but i m happy i withdraw big part before month
Well for sure it will be Stryyke-Wauw and Stryyke i think are something like sister books-Their mails are in same style.
I send mail to their support but still nothing-Lets see if this time LGA-Malta will assist to players.
I think to book ticket too and to visit this small country with big licensing association.

Now theres a blast from the past sir. The last I heard about Ciaobet, which too was a Malta-based book was that they screwed over multiple players about 15 months ago. However, I haven't read anything new about them since this.

"Mail style" is not a thing that should matter here. The first obvious and important difference is that Stryyke have risk management in place. Limits may go down to 25 euro per bet only after a couple of bets and even for starteres they are not exeptionally high. And odds move much faster than it was in Wauwbet.

i have a feeling for these small books when the time get though they'll start taking swings at the games, and if that doesn't turn out well, they pack up and leave.

    Dear Wauw user,

Due to the current international financial situation there’s nothing that indicates we’ll be able to sell our assets within the next couple of months. Consequently we’ve decided, in agreement with LGA, to pay out 50% of users’ balances straight away.

There are a number of conditions that need to be met before qualifying for a 50% payout at this point in time though. Thus please be aware of the following:

    1. Overall: Please have patience. We’ll handle withdrawal requests in the order we receive them and as fast as possible, but expect an overall increased processing period due to the number of withdrawal requests.
    2. You’ll only be allowed to withdraw 50% of your balance if your balance totals at least 50€ - meaning the least possible payout for now is 25€.
    3. Log in to your account and make a withdrawal request of exactly 50% of your balance giving relevant details for your preferred withdrawal method. If your withdrawal request is not exactly of 50% of your total balance the withdrawal request will be declined.
    4. If you’ve made a deposit using a **** card within the last 6 months a withdrawal can only be made to that exact same **** card.
    5. If you’ve made a deposit using a Master card within the last 6 months we’ll withhold an amount equal to the total amount deposited by Master card during the last 6 months, plus an amount of 40€ per credit card deposit during that period. This is necessary in order for us to protect ourselves against possible costs in relation to cancelled Master card deposits. Any funds over and above this amount can be withdrawn using bank, Moneybookers or Neteller immediately (as long as it doesn’t exceed 50% of your total balance).

We’re very sorry for the inconveniences brought on you by this, but hope you’ll understand that we’re doing everything possible in order to try and satisfy all involved parties in this difficult situation.

If you have any questions please write us at: support@wauwgaming.com

    Kind regards,
    Wauw Gaming

I feel lucky with these guys. I had a very high balance and was told my limits would be cut. I then withdrew most of it and placed 3 bets a week before they closed and they lost. I thought i had about 450 euros in there but it turns out i have 8 euros. It must have been my balance before i placed the bets. I cant withdrawal this cause the minimum withdraw limit is 10 euros

Well i had ballance of about 900eur
. Also i was parto of the bonus 100% for first deposit. I was about 200eur in bets away to made T&C(2000eur in bets). When i login to my account there was only 450eur . They cut my balance in half !! And when i made 50% withdraw i got only 225eur. That is about 25% of my balanc not 50%, damm what a ripp off !!

BTW how long did you wait for the money once you have made withdraw?

Not sure if I really believe it or not, however I just read a report of a player receiving 50% of their funds via Neteller back on 10/21/08. Has anyone else received a payout from them in the last few days?

I haven't received any payment from Wauwgaming; apparently, this is because I deposited via **** and they are not paying 50% of such balances until six months after the last deposit was made. Come March 2009, I might get something!

It seems that their acquiring bank wishes to protect themselves from chragebacks. I suppose I can understand that, to some extent. However, deposits by debit card (as in my case) do not enjoy as much protection as those by credit card. Furthermore, if I received a payment from Wauwgaming or their bank and then applied for a **********, I would be acting fraudulently. I have advised them that I would never act in such a manner and given my word on this. For some reason, that doesn't seem to cut any ice with them!!!!

First off, Welcome to the SBR forum

While I can definitely understand your frustrations, I can't fault the book for imposing the wait at all. Please keep us posted on your situation sir.
