I like the look of the over 2.5 at $2.28 here, but am hoping someone with a bit more A-League knowledge than me will help talk me into or out of it.
Over 2.0 at $2.00 is also available.
These teams have averaged 3.75 in their 4 meetings in the last 12 months.
Last up was 3-2 to CC at home a month ago.
I think the price is good because CC have had trouble scoring goals on the road this
year, but are favorites to win (1-1 followed by 0-1 are the favourite exact scores on betfair). They are coming off a 5-0 win at home last week, so are in a scoring frame
of mind at least. I'm expecting the unusual heat and humidity
up there to take some toll on CCs normally solid defense, so I think we only
need 1 from them. Plus they could be good for 2 or 3 anyway.
North Queensland are stronger at home, scoring at least 2 goals in 3 games,
and going over 2.5 in 4 of their 5 home games this year. This is their 3rd home
game in a row, and being so far away from every other team I think the long
stretch with no travel could be a helpful factor.
Warm Spring Friday night game under lights in a town without much else going
on will likely bring out a good crowd for support. Plus these are the first
rounds as weather is warming up all over and I think the locals being used
to the unusual humidity and heat up there will be another factor in their
favour.
