So where are all the goals in the World cup?

    7 games = 6 unders and 1 push..

Yes its early, but are we seeing a trend here?
    Is it the ball?
    Shite offense?
    Nerves?

    Maybe all the maddening vuvuzelas...

The reduction to the mean is going to catch up eventually, maybe starting in the 2nd game for everyone we will start seeing some more overs?

It's simply the fact that in the first group games, the teams are more worried about NOT LOSING than they are WINNING.

I can't remember so many bad games at a world cup. Quality is very poor.

The vuvuzela noise could be part of the poor quality of play. Players can't communicate. Communication on the field is huge. I don't mean conversations, but quick screaming instructions that attend others to either danger or opportunity.

very sloppy games thus far. don't expect these types of games from the elite teams like Spain. Still early though, these opening games are always very hard to predict for me at least

#1 goal for every team in the opener = don't lose

Even Capello said before the USA game that the main goal was not to lose, even tough they were expected to blow them out.

Even Brazil vs North Korea might go under

I actually think I'm going to start riding the Under train. You know that the players are watching many of the games of other teams and it's amazing how watching others do something causes you to do something.

I'm not trying to say that it's guaranteed Unders will happen but here's an easy situation. You have teams A, B, C and D in group 1
    A vs B results in 1-1 tie
So C and D both know that a loss will pretty much end their tournament. Both teams play and are happy with a tie but will not play a style that could result in a loss.

    Let's say this time
    A vs B results in 6-0 victory
So C vs D both teams know they need to win, and the larger the margin of victory the better.

Just my thinking about the current situation.
