    South africa to advance +185

The host country has always advanced to the knockout round. The South Africans get a few home town calls, a few bounces, and play against the weakest seeded team in france..

I think they have a good shot at going on... I know on paper that this team is not at all in the league with these teams, but THIS IS AFRICA.. to quote Leonardo.

The french will be saying TIA? when they can't make it out the first round. France will not advance +200

just some food for thought from group A

They are probably the worst team in their group, I would have taken the price if the group was a little easier but right now I just don't see it.

Look at past world cup results and the majority of the time the host nations have had solid teams, with ~70% of them advancing to the final 4 or better. I would say that this year's SA team has a solid chance to break the trend

good luck buddy. can't say i agree with it, but all the same, hope you win it.

then espn can do yet another sappy story of the underdog winning.

    Hey Boys
Im in SA and soccer is the biggest sport here! That does not mean our national side is decent. I would love SA to qualify for Round of 16 but would not been a cent on them advancing. I think Mexico and Uruguay progress, France are garbage!

Good luck, but I doubt it. So every team that's hosted has moved on, but Africa's never hosted it before, and South Africa is no Ivory Coast or Ghana. Keep in mind in 1994 when the US hosted it, the only reason they moved out of their group was because 3 of the 4 teams in their group made it out (US being one of the best 3rd place finishers). Otherwise they wouldn't have. Your argument is a bad trend to follow.

France and Uruguay make it out.
