If you hit the line in football is it a push or a lose?

Twice this week i have hit the handicap line. Once with newcastle -1 last week and chelsea -1 today. Each time though my book has recorded these as loses, shouldnt i be getting a push?

-1 European handicap is a lose, it's the same as -1.5
    -1 Asian handicap is push

Always look for all the markets for one particular game. For example in Bet365, the asian handicap market usually offers higher odds compared to the european.
Just check Aston Villa - Everton today:
Extra Asian handicap -1.5 is priced at 4.60 (euroodss)
European handicap -1 is priced at 4.50
Both are exactly the same thing, so you should always check all the options available

The easiest way to tell is that the Euro handicap usually offers a draw option, so if the book has something like Aston Villa -1, Draw, and Portsmouth +1, the "draw" option is actually that Villa will win by exactly 1.
