Why do you think USA can move on and why Slovenian can't ?
Yes, Slovenia is unknown country, but did you watched them play? They kicked out Russia which was big surprise for everyone, I'm sure a lot of people lost their bets that night.
I'm from Slovenia and I support our team but when it comes to betting I'm homeless, from out of space. I think that betting on USA/SLO is to soon.
I don't have any solid opinions yet. They're just educated guesses at this point.
The only two teams that I know will not reach the next round are Honduras and New Zealand.
I pretty much agree with the whole list Dark, except these: Ghana over Serbia? Cameroon over Denmark or Japan?
I still need to look into these myself, but just curious.
Paraguay instead of Slovakia in Group F.
Denmark instead of Cameroon in Group E.
Serbia instead of Ghana in Group D.
Mexico instead of South Africa in Group A.
Those are the only changes that I would pick differently compared to your picks, Dark Horse.
I may have to rethink some of my African teams, but Ghana I wouldn't easily discard. And the home team almost has to qualify. Unwritten rule. lol

After seeing South Africa in the Confederation's Cup and a little in two recent friendlies,i don't think they have any chance of getting out of their group.They are kind of amateurish in defense and have big problems scoring,despite having a couple of good players-Mokoena,Pienaar,Mccarthy.
It kind of seems to me that the only African team that could go through will be Ivory Coast- Portugal barely making it to the WC,with or without CR.Nigeria also has a shot.Serbia and Denmark are in too good of a shape for Ghana and Cameroon,i think.

Yeah!That's what i was trying to say!I've seen what Serbian players can do against us - 3-1 in Constanta, 5-0 in Belgrad.It's a great team,who can get very far if they could get over their Balkan mentality.I really like them,they are great fighters and have a terrific coach,Antic.It's one of my favorite teams there!

I would strongly recommend not betting on Ivory Coast, they have world class players, they have a strong defense, midfield and attack, looks great doesn't it, well its not. They are awful just like Nigeria, Cameroon and Algeria, the only African team who is going to make an impact is Ghana, they are going all the way

Individually, the Europeans look better.Antic is better than Rajevac, so i don't see how Ghana can go through.As for Ivory Coast,I'm not going to put money on them to pass the group stage, i just said they have a shot, as Portugal looked kind of shakey in the preliminaries.

South Africa will ruin this group for someone and my money is on France. Both Mexico and France had horrible qualifying campaigns but Mexico I think has less contrasting personalities and can play as a team. Host teams are always dangerous and while SA prolly wont get to 2nd round, they'll upset France I believe.

Argentina gets through on sheer starpower. Second place goes to Nigeria. I think Greece is actually the better team but having the tourny in your home continent always shows up in the results.

USA usually craps the bed every other 4 years. Thankfully for Sam's Army this is not the other 4 years so they should show up this time. Their performance in the Confed Cup also points to advancement. England obviously goes through unless their bus gets shot up by rebels.

Ghana very dangerous on their own already as we saw in the last WC and they should build on their success this time around being (relatively) close to the event. Australia and Serbia are both dangerous squads but Germany should find a way through. If there is a major upset, look for it to the the Aussies coming through here.

Love the Dutch team and their orange shirts (check out this Guy Ritchie commercial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anwlp...layer_embedded). I don't know much about the Cameroon side but I know Japan and Denmark aren't good and that's good enough for me.

I wanted to find any way that Italy would not go through, but couldn't make it happen realistically. New Zealand are minnows which may nick a point or two but that's it. I believe Paraguay beats Slovakia head to head.

Just kidding. Brazil obviously gets through in this one. It's hard to pick between Portugal and Ivory Coast though and I have been leaning towards the African sides so far but I have a gut feeling that Ronaldo wills Portugal through on the biggest stage in soccer. It could go IC's way though.

Torres and Spain take first, Duh. For second, don't be surprised to see a very hardy Honduran side make it through this group. A lot of their players have been streaming out internationally over the past couple of years and this could end up being their coming out party. As long as they can score a goal against the stout Swiss defense in their match, they should be safely through.

Japan can beat Denmark. I'm not sure they can beat Cameroon. Cameroon plays a very stifling style of soccer, they kind that saw them draw 0-0 on the road in their last friendly against Italy. Japan can win it though if they take the lead in the 1H, but I doubt that'll happen against the Cameroonians. I have Cameroon winning that encounter by 1-0.
I feel bad for North Korea, they won't score a single goal in that group and will probably end up with a goal difference in the negative double digits and arguably be the worst team in the tournament.
Cameroon is so Overrated is not even funny
So is Nigeria and Ivory Coast, they are managed horribly.
You never know. Its the hardest situation for the minnow nation but you just never know.
South Korean have no chance? I like them to be the sleeper pass nigeria and greece. Qualifying w/ 4 points or something of that sort
Ivory Coast over Portugal. Hopefully Australia does get out but I think Serbia will have more of a chance than Ghana. I think it looks good otherwise but anything can happen in the World Cup.
