    Spain la liga drama

Last game of the season Athletico Madrid have a 2 point lead in the standing over there bitter rivals Real Madrid. Should be very emotional scenes if Athletico can hold out for the title today.

Good stuff, slayer. Not too often that a team breaks the top2 in La Liga.

If I have my facts right:

    1) Tiebreaker = H2H. Not Goal Differential.
    2) Real Mad took 4 pts out of 6 vs Ath Mad.

So, AthMad Draw + RealMad Win leaves AthMad on the short end.

    Go, Ath Mad!

Real needs a goal shortly after the break. They must win.

What a mis-hit to set up Suarez for the goal.

    1) How much $$ would it take to lure Simeone away from Ath Madrid?

    2) Are there any teams he would want to manage?

    3) Do you think he will ever move from Ath Mad?

I think the natural would be to take over Real Mad. Real change coaches all the time, and Simeone wouldn't have to move. Would love to be Simeone's agent, b/c he is in the catbird's seat.

If Simeone had choked this championship away he should have been let go. Atletico blew an extremely comfortable lead and almost blew it altogether.

Barcelona and Real had terrible seasons. Their squads are a easily one step below of years past if not more. Still Atletico managed to somehow win it all. If it weren't for two terrible, terrible teams they faced in the last 2 matches Real would have won the league. Add to that Atletico barely managed to beat those two terrible teams.

I can imagine Simeone going to the Premier League although his boring football mentality suits the Italian league better.

Someone is overrated. He is a better current version of Mourinho. His teams play not to lose. He was lucky they grabbed Suarez this season. How many times do you see his team playing a very subpar squad as massive favorite still 0-0 in the last few minutes.
