    Hyundai A-League

Central Coast Mariners vs Newcastle Jets

    Adelaide United vs Brisbane Roar

A pair of interesting games as both Newcastle and Brisbane are battling for a spot in the finals series, while both Central Coast and Adelaide are eliminated and playing for pride.

    Considerations:

    - Central Coast has leased away striker Nik Mrdja to Victory for the last 2 games of the season and finals.
    - Newcastle has lost captain Matt Thompson, midfielder Jobe Wheelhouse and striker Sean Rooney, all ruled out due to injury.
    - This will be Central Coast's final home game of the season. Its also a derby.

    - Adelaide's newly recruited Argentine, Marcos Flores, will be starting on the bench and will likely see game time in this match.
    - This will be Adelaide's final home game of the season.
    - If Brisbane loose this game, they will be eliminated from a finals birth.
    - Brisbane's Henrique is back in the line up and Sergio van Dijk is in good form.

So far, Leaning Central Coast and Brisbane

Thought about boths games and decided to give them a miss.

Jets are without a lot of important players but they still have a lot of quality left in their side. Jets have all the motivation while CC are at a new low. But CC haven't won in ages and they are due. Weather is bad in Gosford high wind and thunderstorms. The NYL game earlier was cancelled.

Adelaide are playing for pride, ACL places, and their spots for next season. They've recalled a lot of their top players. Brisbane don't perform well on the road and esp in Adelaide in crunch games.

Central Coast vs Jets game is cancelled.

As for Adelaide vs Brisbane - its a tough one to call. Adelaide can't make the finals but it is their last home game of the season and they'll be wanting to finish on a high in front of their own fans. They'll also be playing for their futures and positions in the AFC Champions League.

On the other hand, Brisbane is desperate to win to keep their finals hopes alive but they struggle on the road in important games. There are reasons to like and dislike both teams in this encounter so its a tough one to call either way.

Neither team is high on confidence though and fluent, attacking teams are usually playing well and confident in their ability. As a result, I expect the attacking quality in this match to be quite low and as a result the only angle that I'm confident with is betting the Under in this match. If Brisbane takes the lead, they'll be wanting to keep things tight to get the win and keep the finals hopes alive. If Adelaide gets the first goal, they don't really have much incentive to keep pushing forward. The Under looks like the most sensible play, in my opinion.
