Ronaldo/messi not comparable in my eyes. Both have very different games. Messi creates much better than CR, but ronaldo is a born goal scorer.

Is this some kind of overreaction because of his performance against a minnow like Malmo? Ask this again if he can repeat that at the Camp Nou.

At the moment, MSN are the best 3 players in the world. I will go with Ibrahimovic at the 4th spot. CR only feast on minnows nowadays.

Lionel messi, and it's not even close.

Diego Marodona is the GOAT. Maybe if Messi finally wins the world cup we could start to compare them. But right now Marodona won everything while clearly the best player in the world for a decade. If not for his drug problems he would be marketed as such.

I don't think messi will ever win a world cup... Sucks to say, because Argentina used to be such a great nation but they haven't been tough lately.

Maradona was outrageously successful. Pele the same way.

    Lewandowski. ...

Messi/Ronaldo both overrated....do nothing at World cups....can only play on all star teams and pad stats against pathetic minor league teams. Club soccer is a joke.

Another euro/world cup and this jokster will do nothing again..

agreed Tham12...most of this generations superstars in soccer pad their stats, production, etc. inferior club competition...and most of them disappear come world cup time when it really matters and it really means something and when you are playing against the best players in the world representing their countries......I'm literally surprised no one else mentioned Pele considering the fact JJ Golds original question was the best of all-time....my top two are Pele and Maradona......and it's not even close.

messi is the most gifted player the world has ever seen.....ronaldo is a product of practise.

messi without the barcelona tiki taka football, he is good but not dominating.

ronaldo would dominate in any team.

Don't know how Messi is overrated.
Guy is triple & quadrupled teamed throughout the game and he still dribbles through and makes miraculous plays. To me, Hes a magician with the fastest nimblest feet since Zidane. Any one who seen him play live can tell you he is moving 10 times faster and more precise with the ball than anyone on the field. I Haven't seen Ronaldo play in person but just from being a striker doesn't put him in the conversation in terms of ball skill. Same thing for Pele, great scorers but in terms of creating opportunity for scores, neither compares to Messi, zidane and marodona. Each would run circles around him or anyone else in the world one to one in their prime.

Comparing Pele or Maradona to Ronaldo is like comparing an old classic Benz to a fkng 2015 Lambo.
Football has changed dramatically over the years. Pele and Maradona dominated in their prime, no doubt about it...but they have never faced or played against such skilled and physically fit players, that Ronaldo is toying with nowadays.

Ronaldo passed his prime...he spend a lot of time focusing on doing commercials and PR his products now. Messi is still great but not as close (or not yet) to Maradona or the older generation of Brazilians (ronaldo, pepe, ronaldinho)

like diggity said, not the best but the prettiest

Ronaldo could instantly fit into any team and still dominate. I don't know if Messi could fit into any team like that.

Messi still hasn't impressed me playing for Argentina, and look at the players he has around him in that team...

Plus I think a real legend (Maldini, Nesta, etc.) could stop Messi. Ronaldo could dominate them with pure pace and power.
