Why is Colombia such an underdog against Brazil?

This line baffles me. Colombia has arguably the best player of the tournament so far in James Rodriguez and Brazil hasn't been playing well at all.

Colombia will attack and while that favors Brazil that is a good counter team with Neymar, they are a matchup nightmare for us. Our weakest links are the two side backs. On Brazil they call Daniel Alves an avenue because he leaves a lot of space and Cuadrado has been absolutely burying all defenders in this tournament. Marcelo is also not doing very well.

Luiz Gustavo is out for this game. He is the second best player in the team so far aside from Neymar. He covers a fukkton of ground from the midfielders and the sidebacks when they attack. He is basically a third defensive back. Coach Felipao doesn't know who he will start. He will probably put Dante in and have David Luiz play as a defensive midfielder which I don't think is the best solution. We don't have anyone to what Luiz Gustavo does well in the roster.
Maybe he will put in Hernanes or Paulinho and have Fernandinho play a bit back, but I doubt it.

What worries me a bit about this bet is that they are yet to be tested against a good team, almost everyone they beat are shit even though they stomped everyone except Drogba's team.

Colombia to advance and ML look very juicy. Too bad the line moved a lot already. Liked the opener.

Well I agree with you. I made a bet on Chile +1 on the last game after knowing the injuries of each team and after knowing that Howard Webb was the referee (I was afraid of a stupid referee like the Croatian game). So I will wait again and see whether I will bet on Colombia or not but definitely not betting on Brazil

Nice to not see "Columbia" used in this thread by the non-paid posters so far. Nice work, fellas.

i can't help feel brazil will progress because the world cup is in Brazil, it's got this weird scripting to it. A bit like Korea making it to the semi-finals in 2004 (given it was probably more than scripted $$)

still, i'll be taking Columbia at +350 any day. Just read in the paper neymar is an injury doubt to, if that's the case goodnight Brazil.

Brazil doesn't lose to the small teams of South America. Only team that owns Brazil is Argentina. All others play scared versus Brazil.

I love Colombia, such a great team (not just 11 good players, they actually play for each other). They have the right team to win any World Cup... except this one.

It just seems far too early for Brazil to go out of their own tournament. I'll probably back BTTS and Colombia +0.5

I want Columbia to win the whole thing, definitely my adopted team since Ivory coast didn't make it through.

Ivory Coast was by far the best African team in the tourney. Ghana 2nd best lol. A shame they didn't get to the next round. I thought Ivory Coast could have been a real dark horse.

Greece got lucky vs Ivory Coast.

Most days Ivory Coast would tear that Greek azz up.

There's also no Luis Gustavo, the defensive midfielder that plays a vital role in the team.

They might move David Luiz up and put Dante in defense, the guy didn't play one single minute the entire cup and now is going to a decisive match against one of the best attacks of the tournament.
I'm huge on Colombia to qualify.

They always flop in the international stage. Just look at their ANC and WC record. Their golden generation can't even get through the WC group stage for once or win a single ANC. Being in a tough group can't be an excuse. They are given a relatively easy group this year yet they still fail to make it.

Remeber guys for Colombia that game won't be like it was vs Uruguway. Brazilians will jump all over them and however they will play, good or bad they'll get the result in the end which I really regret, I admire such teams like Colombia but Im afraid this is as far as they go in this tournament. Colombia will show a lot of respect for Brazil and they will use it in their favor ... unfortunately

Colombia has lots and lots of value, Colombia to pass is at PK+190 on my bookie and I'm on it. Not so confident on the ML though.

Brazil hasn't shown that much, Luiz Gustavo won't be available and he has been superb along with Fernandinho, I'm not sure whether Scolari gonna put in Ramires or the crappy Paulinho, or put David Luiz as defensive mid and put Dante in the back. Neymar should play but he may not play 100% since Chile was really physical on him.

The flanks of Brazil have been awful due to Alves and Marcelo more offensive minded, Colombia has killed the flanks so I don't see how Brazil can win, unless there are some controversial calls by the refs.
