Difference of odds between Brazil and Germany to win the world cup

On my bookmaker right now: Brazil 3.90 ; Germany 6.20

Do you think it's fair ? Isn't the difference too big given the level of both teams ?

I guess Brazil playing at home justifies this ?

playing at home it would be a surprise to me if Brazil didn't win it. Plus no team has ever won the cup on another continent hence the Germany odds

yes its because of the home advantage. Only have to see how Brazil performed in the Confederations Cup to see that it is a legit advantage. Aside from the vociferous home support and players raising the game, you also have the humidity issue that teams like Germany are going to have to deal with at times

    say what?

well germany is missing a good striker.
    klose, gomez, kruse .... average.
götze or reus could play a false 9 but not sure if löw goes for this ...
germanys biggest problem is the defence.
boateng and hummels are the best individual centre back players but this duo didn't worked out.
now he is playing with mertesacker-boateng and it worked out better than before, but still no "winning the world cup"-material so far.
hummels and badstuber (centre backs) are injured since month same as schweinsteiger, gündogan and khedira.
left back is trash (schmelzer, jansen).
if schweinsteiger and gündogan are fit and özil, götze, reus, müller are in top form as well as the defence becomes more solid, germany could take it.

well i don't see brazil winning the wc.
    just too much hype.
well neymar is good, but thats it.
hulk is trash, luiz gustavo, ramires, paulinho etc are average.
defence consist of left back/left forward marcelo and an for 2 seasons strugling dani alves,
despite silva and dante/david luiz are world class.

As long as we(Germany) don't have to face Italy or Spain we'll be fine.
