    Ecuador at Chile?

Ecuador needs the win, Chile has already qualified. Argentina still has a shot but has to beat a tough Uruguary squad. If Argentina loses and Ecuador wins, Ecuador is in.

Chile has no incentive to win, but do they have incentive to lose?

This is why I think that Uruguay needs to beat Argentina because they cant put their faith in Chile

    The lines say it all:

    Chile +145
    Ecuador +140

Ecuador are the favorites. And it'll happen that way.

I agree. him being an agentinian puts a personal twist on this. He will want his home country to qualify reguardless of who he coaches. You never lose your national pride. And who knows maybe he'll be up for agentina manager when maradona is finally sacked.

Guys, you're missing the point. The coach isn't out on the field playing. The Chilean players don't want to see Argentina advance, who cares what the coach wants? The coach will do what his players want, and that's to see Argentina out.

If this plays out like that, I see Ecuador scoring in the 1H and holding on to that lead, so a 1-0 game.

Yes, I know. Everyone thinks he will help Argentina by trying to beat Ecuador, but he is not the one on the field. It all depends on what the Chilean players want. If they don't care about Argentina, they will play to win. If they don't want Argentina to advance, they will play to lose.

So the question is what do the players want? I don't know!

In 2001 Uruguay played Argentina for the last game with a tie Uruguay was in and Colombia out , so in the last few mins the Argentine players started passing just passing the ball in their side of the field while the uruguay players just watched , MArcelo Bielsa was going crazy because of this , anyways my point is at the end of the day the players are the ones that play in the fied and decide the game, Chileans would for Argentina to be out

its silly to think that chile will just sleep on this match. players still need to make an impression on the managers if they want playing time in south africa. it will be obvious to everyone if a player is half assing on the pitch
