This has nothing to do with Soccer and all to do with Politics boys. Yes, these things happen in soccer, but this is not one of them.

You are looking at factions trying to destabilise a still growing & fragile democracy.

    Very sad day...

I agree with MatI. Soccer was just the way to perform this terrible hate show.

20,000 home fans chased 2000 away fans with knives, clubs and stones.
exits locked so no one could escape.

this wasnt a soccer match, it was a fuken ambush.

surprised only 70 something people died!

    Faaaaaark!

They might as well just have a placebo football game and invite the fans into the stadium with guns. Make it an official war. Neutral venue so one side don't out-number the other. Who needs a real football game, this is an excuse for WAR!

It's not an excuse for war, it is war! Egyptians are fighting for their freedom and it sadly has spilled over onto the soccer ground. Atleast games have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.

Most that died were supporters of the visiting team. A blue collar team. These same supporters were on the streets a year ago to oust the old Mubarak regime. Home team fans are saying it was orchestrated by officials as 'pay back'.

There have been 2 days of protests and clashes with 'police' since the incident. Hopefully this can at least act as a catalyst to oust those remaining in power.
