A League Brisbane Roar vs Newcastle Jets upset in the making?
Interested to hear your thoughts on this match?. Having a quick skim through the head to head stats newcastle have won 3 of the last 6 encounters with Brisbane winning 2 and 1 match being a draw.

In the last 6 head to head matches neither team has lost by more than one goal. My book has the Jets at 7.00 and the roar at 1.50 (draw at 4.00).

Is this the spot to take a stab at the Jets? or the DNB at 5.40?

Queensland Roar appear to the top dawg in this league...don't see the Jets getting a road win, I'll wait for further analysis from the A-League insiders and soccer experts

Yeah it would be good to get some more info as my interest in this match is purely down to the H2H stats. I'm sure there is a great reason why the jets are 7.00

Brisbane are clear cut top team so far this season, They have the best attack and have guys up front who can finish. Newcastle are defensively oriented and rely on a sole striker each game. Hence taggart/burns. If their sole striker doesn't perform, they don't have any other players near capable to scoring. Their CM's are defensively oriented and dont provide much in attack. Brisbane are definitely the better team and playing at home should get the win. I dont think newcastle will win but they might always push for a draw. However you can see from their recents stats, neither side has drawn in about last 5 matches. Roar should win this by 1 goal. Can't see them winning by more given newcastle's defence and recent form.

There is: they're outgunned. They will lose this match.

sounds like under might be the better bet, since I don't want to lay the juice with Brisbane

Can't judge based on the last game. the rain and the wet field were ridiculous.

Thanks for your reply. But the weather was ridiculous for both teams to be fair. I have locked in my bets already so will ride it out.

I agree that Brisbane are most likely to win but I guess for myself I give a bit more credence to head to head results as well as the odds. I can appreciate that the Roar are the top of the ladder team and also as another posted have a full team while the jets are missing a couple of offensive players.

But if i get 5.40 DNB on a Team who in their last 6 matches against their opponent has won 3 times and drawn once I think I have to consider a bet. So I considered it and I bet it.I will look to hedge if Jets score first if not i'll ride it out.

Yeah as has been mentioned the last game was a joke it probably shouldn't of been played, both jets goals were from back passes that stopped in puddles and the jets players got there first and scored. I couldn't talk you out of betting Newcastle though they've gone really good this season and probably don't deserve to be written off like they have been by the books.

They will have to defend well and pinch it after 60 minutes I feel and if they go down early it might be game over but the Roar are ripe for the picking the longer games go as they just keep pushing higher up the pitch.

I've only missed one Newcastle game this season and they've been the better side for the majority of those games. The pick of them would be going to Melbourne and beating them there 2-1 they were fantastic in that match. I didn't see the last one against Western Sydney but by the looks that was another WSW defend well get a goal and sit on it job, they happen.

Dammit Joe you're making me like Newcastle here and I HATE fading the Roar, well actually I don't hate it I simply don't do it as I'm on em nearly every week as they're the class side of the comp but hell I think the Jets could do something here.

On a pitch cut up from recent Taylor Swift and Bon Jovi concerts, the middle section of Suncorp’s playing surface didn’t lend itself to a neat passing game.
It led to nearly every Brisbane Roar attack coming from the left wing, where Thomas Broich pumped at least a dozen crosses into the box.

Did the Jets play on a different field to the Roar? no? well the reason you lost is because you bet on the wrong team. I'm really shocked the "sharp" posters on this thread were backing the roar and the roar-1. Recent form is important but you cant ignore head to head stats especially when it favours a team who are +600

If you are a team that is entirely dependant on fast transition play through passing (which every effort made by Roar seemed to suggest they are) then playing on what is basicly a glorified cowpatch is SEVERLY going to hamper your playing ability.

I mean i'm sure when you 'capped' the game accounted for the fact that one of the Roars would put one in their own net, or that the second half would be played on the side of the pitch that was completly fubared.

Be happy you got lucky cnt and can the fkn elitist attitude.

Indeed, was a similar situation with Juve/Gala - although perhaps not because Gala fuucked up one half of the pitch more than they other on purpose knowing that Juve were going to be attacking in that half for 45 mins) - but still, Juve tried to play football and pass, while Gala were happy to boot the ball up to Drogba and feed off him. That is what Conte tried to explain to Drogba's dumb ass at HT when Conte was saying he wanted the game called off and Drogba said to him "it's the same for both of us"!!!
