    Portland has the best home crowd in MLS. They could be playing a bunch of YMCA kids and draw a big crowd.

    Awesome atmosphere!

    Actually it is kind of amazing, although everything about the Timbers atmosphere works. Downtown soccer stadium that is easily accessible via public transportation, bars all around the stadium, a city that is very young where the 20-some year olds will flock to anything cool and the older couples will also go to games. Most people grow up playing some sort of soccer in Portland so the sport is not "new" per se. No competition from Baseball or any other pro sports (the NBA is locked out).

    Could definitely see this working in a few other places, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Eugene, Oregon.
