    Top goalscorer in 2011/2012

Who you guys got? With Tevez likely out the door, will it be Rooney, van Persie, Suarez, Chicharito? Does Drogba find his form again, or will it be a darkhorse that tops the charts?

    Lemme hear your thoughts chaps

Torres. He is the one real striker for Chelsea this year around 3 attacking midfielders.

its too soon for chicharito to become top goal scorer. i would say berbatov but with rooney healthy, that would be impossible.

i would go for van persie

    Huh? Drogba? Anelka? Possibly Sturridge.

Based on the second half of last season, van Persie! But he's never fit for the full season and would miss Cesc/Nasri should they leave.
Hernandez doesn't stop running and has an eye for girl, so he's a good shout. Berbatov, not going to happen. How many did Rooney score alongside Hernandez last season? He's got the summer off to rest this year so I can see him coming back strong Carroll, no. I worry Suarez may be distracted by Carroll, otherwise he's an outsider.

I also say that Berbatov does not have any chance.

What's the difference between the British Petroleum oil spill and Emile Heskey?

United strikers all suffer from the rotation, I think Drogba is slightly out of favour at Chelsea from what I hear, and wouldn't surprise me to see him drop back, and Arsenal could be in chaos with all the transfer rumors... I wouldn't be surprised to see the top scorer not come from the top 5 next year, somebody at one of the mid-table clubs with guaranteed games may be worth backing as a high-odds dark horse, at least for trading purposes.

Also worth mentioning is the rumour that has Adebayor coming to Spurs on a subsidised loan; he'd likely be a contender - motivated, guaranteed games (vs Keane, Defoe and Pav who would you play), and out to secure a deal for the season after...

Is Adebayor ever motivated?!? Going from Manchester City & Real Madrid to Spurs would surely be another demotivation to him

Plus the only season he scored a considerable about for Arsenal was when he put 6 past Derby...

PS - he's turned down Spurs.

If Van Persie can stay fit I think he'll do it, Wenger likes to play him on his own up front (Gervinho on the wing perhaps), whereas the other contenders share the goals around a bit more. RVP had half the season to score 18 goals last time, that pace over a full season he'd walk it. Plus with a (currently) weak defence, Arsenal will need twice the goals of the other top six to get anywhere.

Rooney (if Sneijder comes to the Red Devils) or Darren Bent.

Darren Bent would be my first thought, but reallly, if RVP can stay fit - as said above - then he can take it no prob

Haha, I looked at the thread title and thought "Darren Bent should have value".

Might put a bit on Suarez as well.

Suarez isn't a natural goalscorer more of a creator. Carroll if he stays fit will score more goals for Liverpool.

Yeah I'm tempted to put a few on Kuyt to be Liverpools top goalscorer. Was paying around $7.50 or so when I last looked.
