    European U-21 Championships

    Futures

    Spain to win outright
    Switzerland to win Group A

Darkhorse bet (for people seeking more value)

    Czech Republic to win outright

    Tomorrow

    Iceland-Belarus O2.5
    Switzerland DNB

Iceland play an attacking style (one of the top scorers in the quals) which leads to exciting games at both ends. They averaged 3 Goals Per Game in the Quals while coming second behind the Czech's.

Switzerland in the groups were just a flat out better team then Denmark and they now have an even stronger side coming into the tourney thanks to the full side allowing some players to play. The only real worry is that Denmark has the home crowd behind them and the best player on their team.(Eriksen)

    Feel free to fade/tail

    Belarus 2 - 0 Iceland
    Denmark 0 - 1 Switzerland

Not a bad first day going 1-1

The better group starts tomorrow with a possible game of the tourney matchup [England v Spain]

    Sunday

    Ukraine v Czech Republic U2.5
    HT Draw

Both of these teams managed to avoid defeat in the entire qualifying stage thanks to some outstanding defense giving up a combined 9 goals in 16 games between them. The Czech's come into this game as the favs with a stronger starting team that has a strong mix between players who play at the top level in their domestic league and role players for stronger european sides where as the Ukraine rely more heavily on a team first type attitude. On paper the Czech's should roll but Ukraine are a tight unit that focuses on shutting the opponent down before worrying about scoring themselves. Add in the first game nerves and we are set for a 0-0, 1-0 type game imo.

    Spain ML

In a matchup between the two tournament favs the Spanish have a clear edge in starting lineups and exp with two world cup winners (Martinez and Mata) plus other top players playing at the highest level in Spain. While England should field a strong lineup with great counter-attacking pace (Sturridge, Welback etc) it's hard to see them winning the midfield battle with Martinez and Thiago running the show. For England to have any success Muamba and Henderson must play at the top of their game and they must hope to catch Spain out with the athletic edge that they most certainly have. Prediction: Spain 2-0/1

Nice thread! I got some money on Spain too, but I think England will win or at least draw, just because the Spanish like to f*** with us Dutchies :P

Good pick and you are very much mistaken in your analysis on the Ukraine team.

7 of todays starters are starters for their teams in the National league. 3 of those play for the top 4 teams, including a kid that starts for a team that made CL 1/4s this season. Another one who isn't a starter but is in the regular rotation for that same team. Czechs are strong team, but i dont see how they are more impressive on paper.

Pretty even 1st half, i think Ukraine will pull this one out.

Czech's trying to single handedly ruin the under now

Demens, I wasn't trying to play down the strength of a good Ukraine team.

I just feel that they were the weaker team on paper

Btw... if you notice I never mentioned where the Ukrainian players play. I just felt like they are more of a team first unit after watching them where as the Czech's rely more on individual talent.

Well, Ukraine lose their captain and Czechs are now dominating the 2nd half. This Ukraine team doesn't give up though, they came back 0-2 to tie France in the qualifiers.

Yeah tough break on the injury

They really don't deserve to be 2-0 down

1st goal was a nice quick attack with a great finish by the Czechs, 2nd was a nice finish too but Ukraines defense was just asleep. SMH. They did nothing for the rest of the game till the last 5 minutes with a little mini storm after the goal. I expected better. One of their best players, #11 Yarmolenko was terrible today.

I thought it was pretty even other then that crazy 5-10 minutes too. Kinda sucks that 4 of the top 5 teams in the tourney are in the same group

Spain: De Gea, Montoya, Botia, Alvaro Dominguez, Villa Rosello, Thiago Alcantara, Javi Martinez, Herrera, Mata, Adrian, Jeffren.

    Sub:
Mino, Marino, Azpilicueta, San Jose, Parejo, Bojan, CApel, Nsue, Angel, Ruiz, Perez, Munian

A little dissapointed Jeffren is playing instead of Bojan/Munian

    Spain 1 - 1 England

Game went to plan and Spain dominated but Welbeck sucker punched them late to force a draw.

    took Denmark -1

    Why?

Because pinnacle is offering the best price on belarus and the draw
no clue otherwise just put a half unit on it because I am bored in class

Similarly I am playing this very small. (that's why I didn't do a writeup). Denmark were favs to win the group for some reason then favs v Switzerland and now they are even more favored v a decent Belarus team

Makes no sense to me really

I have a smaller bet on the Czech Republic +0.5 tomorrow. Neither Spain or England impressed on me last time, at least not up front.

Spain kept the ball well but they did lack a little punch upfront (I blame it on Adrian and Jeffren starting)

I do think you have to remember that Spain v England was a possible final preview so it's possible both teams were just feeling eachother out

    Spain/Czech Republic O2.5
    Spain O1.5 Goals

Small plays on both. I'd lean England in G2 but I don't trust them enough v a solid Ukrainian team.

    England ML for me tonight!

Denmark will have to win tonight as a host nation to have any chance of qualifying for the next round. Iceland has not scored in this tournament so far. Denmark came from behind against Belarus, expect them to carry the momentum into this game. The price is a bit short, but I will take it @ 1.5 for 2 units. Iceland is here for pride, Denmark as a host nation with home support should take the match.

    Good luck and have fun!

I'd rather have Ukraine +1 then play England at that line personally but I'm going to sit this one out

    GL to all
