Is this the perfect storm for philly to lose after being up 3-0?

A classic playoff choker in Harden
One of the worst playoff coach of all time in Rivers

Imagine the pressure on philly/harden/rivers if Toronto wins game 6 and it comes down to game 7

toronto's dominated last 2 games - won by about 23 pts. They're going to go to game 6 with crazy confidence/energy

IF? Man, Toronto is going to blow Philly out in game 6. That Toronto crowd is going to be on fire. James Harden looks like his carriage has turned into a pumpkin. Embiid is hurting, tired and bruised. Everything is setting up for the worst collapse in NBA history.

Outside of Embiid, Philly cant match Raps size and athleticism, look how many easy points in the paint they are getting, easy offensive rebounds etc.

The one thing giving me pause is this has happened 3 times in nba history that a team won 3 straight after being down 3-0 and all of them lost

Shocking to me cause you would think the team down 3-0 and then tied it up 3-3 would have Supreme confidence and momentum

It's gonna happen someday. If it's gonna happen, might as well be to Dopey Doc, Chunky Harden and Crybaby Embiid.

3 games is a very small sample size because most teams are overmatched and just roll over after going down 3-0. The same could be said in MLB until the Boston Red Sox finally won after being down 3. 4 times have NHL teams come back after being down 3-0. So a total of 5 teams have come back after being down 3-0 in all 3 major sports. 9 teams have fallen short going down 3-0, then tying 3-3 only to lose the 7th game. 5 in the NHL, 3 in the NBA and 1 in MLB.

This feels like a perfect storm. The Raps should have won game 3. It really should be 3-2 Toronto right now.

What's interesting is that two times in MLB a team has come back and evened series after being down 3-0. The record is 1-1. In NBA, they're 0-3 in game 7.

Fred Van Vleet being out is a huge help

FVV has played like garbage on offense in the series and he's a defensive liability. You replaced a 6'1 unathletic short guard with a bunch of 6'5-6'7 players who are very long, quick and athletic

The raptors have the ultimate switch defense now, 1-5 on their team can be at least competitive defensively with anybody on the philly offense. 4/5 of their players can do a decent job even on Embiid

This is such a great point. It's becoming very clear that you have to have guys that can defend 1-5, especially your bigs. Teams will abuse your big if he can't defend off the pick n roll. Jokic has been getting abused in their series and he's supposed to be MVP. The Celtics, Heat and Toronto can all 3 defend guards with their bigs. Huge advantage.

    yep

Raptors defense is basically 5 athletic SF and PFs. No true PG or true center. Very athletic and long

I think they would be up 3-2 in this series if Fred Van Vleet is out. He has been horrible on offense and their defense has been much better when he's been off the court

Nobody on here mentioned that Embiid is playing with a torn ligament in his shooting thumb.

Philly laid down like dogs that last game. Almost like they were told they were not allowed to win. Layup after layup for a team that can’t hit an outside shot to save their lives. Kinda like G States defense on Sunday. Weird how this shit happens an it is always the book that benefits these type of games
