With KYC what is stopping a bookmaker from hiring a hitman?

With the proliferation of kyc every sportsbook has the name and address of their customers. If a customer happened to win a lot from a sportsbook and was hurting the bottom line couldn't these offshore books just hire a hitman for a fraction of the remaining balance and keep the rest of the balance once the customer is gone?

Is this fear of kyc being used for nefarious purposes irrational?

Uh...what? If the book is offshore, they can just not pay you. They don't need to kill you. You'd have no recourse at all if one of the Costa Rica books decided to stiff you.

yes, in most cases you are right....BUT when it comes to VERY BIG MONEY, an owner might want to act before someone comes after him. Don't say I've seen too many movies....it COULD happen.
5 dimes comes to mind and no I don't think that was a gambling debt..

The ones that can pay you don’t need a hit man that ones that don’t pay you can’t afford one. So based on that math I think we are safe.

Personally it’s more likely my ex wife has me knocked off then my bookie.

This is totally stupid but for conversation sake, you have to be winning millions for them to even think of doing something like this and if you were dumb enough to keep over a million in a offshore sportsbook account..... you deserve to get whacked.

This is actually a great business idea:

    https://news.co.cr/major-increase-in...ay%20with%20it.

"In Costa Rica, a hit man will kill you for 50,000-500,000 colones, and will more than likely get away with it"

That's 80 to $800 plus travel costs. Maybe "worth a shot".

You are both paranoid and very optimistic by how much you are going to win.

In general, it’s not a good look if your whales start dropping like flies.
What if SBR hired a hitman for starting dumb threads?

It's absolutely a FAR OUT IDEA .No doubt about it. But first of all the info provided is for places that are not exactly known for their honesty.
Secondly, no good for a customer can ever come from this fruity idea.

How long would you last as a bm or any business for that matter if it got out that you dealt with issues by murdering your customers? And how long would you get away with it before you were locked up? The whole idea is beyond stupid.

Cost about $20,000 for a hitman you can trust. Plus expenses.

They have a simpler solution. If you have millions of winnings, they just won't pay. On top of that, they will hire a hitman and to pay him? I do not think so.
