Galaxy Sports not taking new customers

Has anyone else heard about this? I've read throughout this forum and elsewhere that they are very closely related to bookmaker (same company/entity?).

Anyone with information care to enlighten myself and anyone else interested as to why this is?

Not surprised. Probably 99% of people who went there got the sign up bonus and then went back to bookmaker. Not sure what market share they were trying to go after with setting up that book...

Galaxy is a sister site of bookmaker. I've heard of Galaxy not accepting customers who already have an account at Bookmaker.

Thanks for the responses so far. Do you know why that may be @ace7550 given that Justbet is still taking customers w/ Bookmaker accounts? Could it possibly be due to COVID liquidity issues (I get that none of us will be able to confirm this definitively) or something entirely different?

I'd guess they are just trying to avoid bonus whores. If you have a BM account there's really no reason to sign up at Galaxy except for the bonus. As far as liquidity goes, I think sportsbooks are doing just fine. I imagine they are receiving a significant % of all that unemployment money going around...

i had accounts at both bookmaker and galaxy as of last fall. i got rid of galaxy and then just stayed with bookmaker. wasn't even a bonus thing for me. just wanted a different book to mentally entertain me and they really do look the same.

I wonder if they will eventually consolidate or shift all customers to Bookmaker? I think there are a lot of legitimate reasons to use both books beyond bonus hunting and I'm sure Bookmaker/Galaxy/Justbet understand this so I don't get why all of a sudden Galaxy has just stopped taking new customers.

I'm curious what those reasons might be. I can't think of any. They allow max re-bets, so there should be no reason to need an account at more than one book unless you're bonus whoring or trying to work around some sort of limitation placed on your account.

Why would they allow users to create accounts at both books in the first place? And why is Justbet still available? And if that were the reason why not simply disallow bonuses for users with accounts on both books? I get that people can feel a certain way about bonuses but this just doesn’t make sense to me as a reason that Galaxy has decided to stop opening new accounts all of a sudden.

that really is no reason for galaxy and bookmaker. besides a different color everything is basically the same. can't say one has diff odds or rewards.

My impression always has been that Galaxy was only using Bookmaker platform. I don't think there is any ownership involved. Nobody had even heard of Galaxy when you could first get a bonus there so not that surprising you would not get one now.

The problem with this is that they have actively closed JustBet/GalaxySports accounts and told people to use their existing Bookmaker account. If there is no cross ownership involved, then i don't understand how/why this is happening. Lots of other signs too, such as speaking to the same customer support people across sites. I suppose they could lease the support function from Bookmaker but at some point all of these bits of evidence start to point in one direction.

To address the question upthread about why they would have all of these different storefronts? I don't know. The same question could be said about a lot of sister sites, such as BetOnline and Sportsbetting. I don't know anyone who tries to pretend they;re separate. There's obviously some advantage to be gained since so many sportsbooks are doing it.

I once called into BM and gave them my account info and they accidentally answered questions from my galaxy account. They are without a doubt the same company. They create sister sites to increase market share.

This makes the most amount of sense to me. For all intents and purposes they are the same operation (from CS, to Admin, Payment processing. Etc.). One theory is that they probably try to cater to slightly different player profiles. This can be rationalized through the nuances between the sites

That's good logic ace. They wouldn't give me an account a while back either.
