I can not justify the perps actions. He was in the wrong. I do not agree with the guy on the video on certain points until more is known. He mentioned Blake’s arrest record and wrongfully assumed one was a gun possession. That was not a gun because it would be another charge. It was an object like a knife or bottle. Then he assumes like you have that Blake was reaching for a gun in the car. Until the police show proof that there was a gun in the car, that is false. If he had a gun, that would have been mentioned a thousand times and even if he had a gun let’s say in his glove compartment that would not prove motive that he went in the car to use it. All hearsay.
looking at the videos again, I did not see a big scuffle. He seemed to get up easily and calmly walk to his car. He wasn’t running, didn’t seem to be in fear for his life. He certainly wasn’t in a rush. The police were like 5 steps behind him. They then ran after him. Very weird scene to me with people all over the place. Nobody seemed to be in fear to me until shots fired.

I do agree here. I've called for different training often, with many posts saying how bad things are.

Every father, no matter the race, should be having a talk with his kids about the dangers of running from drawn cops and just doing your own thing while they are yelling and screaming for you to just stop. Unfortuantely it's especially true for blacks in many areas, but not everywhere.

I live next door to the nicest black family. The guy has been in the Army for 12 years or something. Like 4 tours to Iraq/Afghanistan. He just got back from Rangers school. He has 2 kids (1 baby) and his sister also lives there with her 2 kids. He's their father too basically.
He's gone like half the year usually or more and his wife thought enough of me (even though I've barely spoken to her) to knock on my door last summer and ask if I could cut their grass. She was 8 months pregnant. I said no problem. I'm no hero, but I try to help more then I hurt. Thats all we can do. Try to see both sides when you can and have some empathy.

I just want to see justice in a lot of ways and ignoring some of the behavior of these young black victims seems to me will doom us to getting repeat results while the cops are always tested.
Community awareness means being aware of the dangers in your community, even if systemic, and knowing when to fight which battles.
Fighting the battle at the point of the police baton, tazer, or gun just never turn out well, usually to the fault of EVERYONE on the scene, but I acknowledge it's not always everyone's fault.

im no fan of police as i feel they abuse their power too often. however in this case it looks like to me they just had to make a tough decision without time to weigh all of the options properly. most ppl are bad at their job and they dont have to worry about being killed. its silly to expect cops to never make questionable decisions under stressful conditions.
with floyd the cops were under no threat so that was clearly criminal assault to me. with the blake shooting i dont really see clear wrong doing by the cops. i think a reasonable person could believe blake was going for a gun when they knew he had an arrest warrant out and they had already wrestled and tasered him and he refused to stop.

I don’t have all the facts on this case. I didn’t see much of a scuffle in the videos. I’ve heard a lot of stories on this. That Blake was trying to break up a girl fight. That the police was responding to a domestic dispute. Did the police know Blake when they got to the scene? Does he have a record of gun violence? Did the police believe he had a record of gun violence? Did they take him? Why/how did he get up so easily? Why was he walking slow and calmly to his car? Why we’re the kids in the car? Why we’re so many other people on the scene? Did the police have control of the scene? There are a lot of unknowns that feel like it’s being hidden?
Now that’s something we can agree upon,

you can see them wrestling a little on the other video but there are a lot of ppl in the way and its not a high definition video. the 911 call was reported as one of the women calling and saying he was trespassing and stole her keys and refused to give them back. i read that they knew there was a warrant for his arrest when they got there. i read he was previously charged with illegally concealing a gun and pointing at ppl in a bar while drunk and also fighting with police but i dont know if the police knew it at the time.
im not sure how he got up so easily since its kind of hard to make out in the video but i think someone posted here a blown up picture of him with what looks like a sharp object in his hands and the police were yelling about a knife. so maybe they had him on the ground and he pulled out a knife so they backed off and tasered him but he just got up and walked around the car.
Hmm... All things considered, sounds a lot like a recipe for getting lit up by law enforcement.
If you value your life, you wouldn't walk into a lion's den. Likewise, if Jacob Blake valued his life, he wouldn't have ticked off every single box to trigger armed officers into survival mode. Any way you slice it, this trash human made his own bed and he can lie in it.
