This is the official thread for the SBR MP Invitational - Year 2. Buy in will be 1500 betpoints with the following payout structure

1st: 9000
2nd: 4500
3rd: 2500

Team with most points for the regular season (13 games): 700

Weekly payout to high point team: 100 points for weeks 1-10, 200 points for weeks 11-13

* if you add up points, you will see I'm adding 300 of my own points to cover pay-out structure.


As for rules, most everything will follow the structure that LT Profits uses for the current SBR leagues. Although we do have a 2nd flex postition.

I have sent out invites to all members from last year. I'm giving them until 8/15 to confirm. At that time, I will open up to new players. Although, I'm willing to start a waiting list if you are interested.

Note: Although draft date in the system is something like 9/3....that's just a placeholder for the time being.

As for the question about what I'm considering a full season....this is what I sent out in the league invite email:

As for the uncertainty terms, I'm considering it a full season as long as 10 games go off. If there are no playoffs, the team with the best record will win the points. Ties will be broken by the following TB's: 1. Points for. 2. H2H Record 3. Coin Flip

Good question...last year we talked about putting it to vote. Although I know some were strongly against doing FAAB.

I looked at the settings and they have all these options:

1. Weekly Reset Based on Standing (which we did last year)
2. Continual Rolling (which doesn't reset weekly)
3. FAAB (Free agent acquisition budget)

Let the discussions begin....and we can do the vote once we get all league members.


By the way....heard back from 4 people today (2 are in and 2 are out). So definitely looking for 2 players and more than likely 4 (since 2 are not pro now).

Since this is a crazy year and there is a lot of uncertainty...plus Jake is a personal friend I’ve met and want in the league....we will only be voting on the top 2 waiver options. I hope everyone understands that decision.

I'm just being hopeful, which is not in my nature at all lol.

When I speak about Covid, it's not if I think seasons/conferences should be cancelled, but if I think the leagues/conferences intermixed with politics etc will decide to cancel.

I'm not a Nobel PhD scientist, my opinion doesn't mean shit.

I wish certain political persuasions would do the same

There's too much money on the line. NFL is King, but it does appear they dragged their feet a bit.

I'm ok with drafting as late as possible With all the craziness even the Wed before. Prefer later Est time (at least 8pm) but let's see what everyone says.

I'm assuming that's Kosher with people's work schedule.

Still pretty quiet for new players coming in. Maybe as we get closer, there will be some more interest.

I'm hearing football activities have been happening with no bad news of outbreaks or anything. So maybe we have a chance.

I will definitely play but I perfer fabb for waivers. If you gonna go with weekly reset then Im definitely not intrested as you just giving the people that draft the worst team an advantage on waivers and a way to make up ground. Fabb really is the best way to go but Id be ok with the 2.
You adding Ir spots for covid only..seems like a good idea this year.
You said two flex positions?? Does that mean one is a superflex?

1. Unlimited IR....no one needs to drop a player because of Covid and everyone is unlimited so the ir players will be dispersed

2. Play at least eight games or everyone gets their money/points back.

3. In case the season is cut short, consider head to head and also the bottom half gets a loss and the top half gets a win. 2 games for each week.

4. Do not adjust the bench to accommodate Covid, only the IR.

This....I know some are so use to the traditional ways of doing it, they'd rather play checkers than chess. But this is the best way to do it. Bidding brings a extra high level of excitement to the fantasy experience. After 1 season of trying it, I'd bet 75-80% would like it, if not more. It's not like we playing for a unearthly amount of points, embrace the change.

Another thing I've seen done is instead of drafting a QB , it's team QB .... so for example if you drafted Brees you also get his back up automatically in case he gets sick.

So if you have unlimited IR then there is no reason to drop a guy, therefore there are no good IR players in the FA pool. Also, the season may be short so stashing IR players in the draft may only hurt you. Give it a couple days after the draft to be able to pick up FA- everyone could put in their transactions for what few IR players there are to stash. There should not be many worth a crap.



I like the backup QB idea.

Or am I making to much of it, I know in my $ leagues, this is the path we're going.

Answers to Heltah Skeltah's questions:

1. Waivers: Currently going to vote on Two Options: 1. Weekly reset. 2. Continual Rolling
2. IR Spots for COVID: Definitely a good idea. I saw we vote on that as well.
3. You said two flex positions? Two spots for RB/WR/TE (No superflex). Also have two RB's and two WR's
4. PPR? Yes....full point PPR
5. TD points: 4 points for passing TD's; 6 points for rushing/receiving TD.

Here's my comments to Dazer's post

1. Unlimited IR....no one needs to drop a player because of Covid and everyone is unlimited so the ir players will be dispersed - we can put it to a vote....as you said in your other post, may be wise to limit it to 2 or 3 so someone doesn't stack 40 COVID players on their team hoping one becomes relevant.

2. Play at least eight games or everyone gets their money/points back. In post #2, I said a full season would be 10 games. However we can vote 8 or 10 to see what everyone prefers.

3. In case the season is cut short, consider head to head and also the bottom half gets a loss and the top half gets a win. 2 games for each week. Also addressed in Post #2. Best record and tie-breakers as mentioned.
