We've always had a 2 tiered justice system. There's the one with money and then there's the one without.
As higher education becomes socialized you get higher costs and more problems.

seems like a minor crime to me. prison should be reserved for major crimes or repeat offenders. they should have to pay a fine and do community service. that way we make money off them instead of paying to lock them up.

I didn’t realize USC was a tough school to get into. Don’t u pretty much just need to graduate high school and live in California to get in?

In the deep South maybe.. In Cali, they would have gotten a free pass, probably a grant and gotten in to USC for free, no questions asked.. Discrimination suits would be filed with the school and city if charged and then everything dropped.
USC is a California school and the same rules don't apply to people of color or ethnicity. I know I live here..

It's all about deterence, if their is no jail time some rich people will jus view the fines as worth it.
well i see ppl jaywalking all the time. i guess we need to send them all to prison as a deterrence? lets be honest. the person that had to go to their backup school because of this probably has cheated in school at some point also. athletes receive this treatment all the time. players who cant pass their classes get help to pass. this takes a scholarship away from another person who can pass the classes fairly.
Meanwhile every elected official in DC and every finance company in NYC is fleecing America.

USC is a tough college to get into with a tremendous mba/mpa program. You don’t get in just because your skin color isn’t pale.

Back when I went to school, USC was known as pay your fee get your "B" type of school and virtually everyone got accepted.
In 2019, USC acceptance rate is ~11% while UCLA acceptance rate is ~15%.
Even though those numbers don't tell the full story since UCLA is a tougher school to get into, it's mind-boggling considering how much it costs to go to USC.
